  5. Test-packed my suitcase in readiness - successfully but I'm sure I haven't remembered everything yet.
    Scoured the house for more stuff I'll need to take with me. How do you pack for six months away? :eek:

    Spoke on the phone to my sister, who continues to recover from her illness. Organised my small e-book collection using Calibre - recommended :upyeah: Checked the garage for signs of water ingress, after water-proofing it last weekend and the torrential rain that hit us early this week - job done by the looks of things :upyeah:

  14. Feckin boiler packed up this morning, so my planned day went to rats!

    1st game of the new rugby season; no sir, elbow deep in boiler parts and water. Fear not, the battle was won, the boiler gremlins defeated (for now, but the war persists).

    Got the kids off their mam, and went to visit the olds (and give a big thanks to my old fella for helping with the boiler battle - top pensioner, he is).

    Just finished watching the last batman movie with the kids, and a tasty bit of Sauvignon Blanc. Today was a good day.

    Unfortunately, the current one supplies hot water and central heating, so needs some TLC now and again.
