Its 916 S from 1994.
They came from factory with the adjustable levers, Ohlins rear shock and a tapered white tail piece.

 

I think it has still the early SP seat as well.

I'm still trying to figure out the differences, hadn't noticed the seat.
I have a confirmation from the factory that the vin matches 1 of 199 built S models.

916 SP3 1996 with a new set of radiator guards…

 

That looks like its in very good condition, have you had it restored or is that all original?
My engine cases really need refinishing, will have to wait till next winter.

 

Had it from new but it has had a minor refresh with cases painted and covers cerakoted otherwise as standard.

 

That would have been a great opportunity hoot if you'd access to unload with that hiab in the background.

 

Had a short ride round the local lanes yesterday ,

I hadn't ridden it for years 10 + and I love the thing. it's was £7250 otr in 2002 couldn't stretch to a S at the time.
