chased in a new socket and wired in to a socket in the adjacent room. Went surprisingly smoothly. Ceilings drying out nicely so over the next few weekends I will be mostly decorating with a little plumbing thrown in for good measure to fit a new rad which are never the same size as the old one (that would be too easy).
Looking forward to the better weather. Gives me a chance to strip and fettle with the carbs and clean them. It won’t seem to run on tick over and a bit lumpy at low revs. All part of the ownership experience I guess
The joy of carburettors... Check for air leaks on the reed blocks/inlet rubbers. Pretty simple machines by modern standards.
Thank you I will. It’s been years since I had a stroker so trying to get the brain cells activated again lol
Tuesday I woke up to this view. Picked up a car and drove east to stay with friends in a place called Robertson. Yesterday basically was a day of rest but at 11.00 the Mrs and I decided to go out for a walk. What a mistake that was, we weren’t ready for the hot dry winds and temperatures heading up towards 40 C. It was more like wading. Bit of a change from the god awful biting cold winds in the UK. Today apparently we’re going Champagne tasting and maybe an earlier walk. It’s tough but someone has got to do it.
@Sam1199 It is a tough life... Enjoy, from an ex "Capie" BTW, not sure of your itinerary, but if you go near Paarl, have a look at the Fairview wine estate. They do some really nice wines and they also do some lovely cheeses, including some goat cheese. Probably my favourite SA wine estate, but having grown up more or less across the "street" (now the N1 highway) I may be a bit biased
Left the 23 degree heat of Lanzarote to fly back into Gatwick, a cool balmy 3 degrees. Bit of a shock! The people staying at our hotel were bloody hilarious, we’ve never laughed so much! It was like a cross between Phoenix Nights and Benidorm!
Got out of my sick bed, dosed myself with temporary feel good medication and now getting ready to drive into London to see Florence Black at the O2 Academy, Kentish Town, tonight. Andy
Pop in to Halfords to buy a replacement headlight bulb, they're updating the trade cards apparently. Brand new card issued, to be fair though my old card looked in a very sorry state.
Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía for sure l, just remember don’t take photos of Picasso’s Guernica or you’ll get a bollocking.
