V2 New Pani V2s - Hitting The Showrooms?

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Skyman, Jan 12, 2025.

  1. Same as the last V2 model and, iirc, the 959 before that. Possibly the 899 but I don’t know on that one. The v2 Bayliss however, does have lacquered in stickers.

  2. Yes 899 is not lacquered either.

  4. My Monster was lacquered so I expected a £17k S Panigale to be the same but sadly not.
I do like the bike after spending quite a while looking at it but that link pipe.
Not the exhausts themselves, just the link pipe but Im sure there will be a lot of aftermarket systems soon.

I couldn’t see any steering damper on the S so it either doesn’t have one or it’s hidden.

Ironically the dealer has no orders for the Panigale yet but several for the Streetfighter.
I await his Streetfighter demo arrival.

  5. the steering damper is an optional extra

  6. Is it !

I haven’t seen that, tight twats

  7. Ducati have also REALLY upped the accessory costs!!! Apart from the handlebars being £505, the tail tidy is £433!!!!!!!!!!!!

personally I like Evotech in general but £433 for the tail tidy is absurd

I specc’d the bike up to a similar spec as my Speed Triple 1200RR with cruise control etc, and it came to £18,500.

I appreciate loads don’t like the speed triple but in terms of spec and features it’s way further ahead and I paid £14k for mine. I think I am just not able to meet the current costs of ‘new latest’ motorbikes. It’s a rich man’s game

  8. Are the clip ons part of the top yoke? They look like one piece.

  9. same as the BMW S1000RR mate, they are but when you buy the Clip on kit they come with some new clamp half’s to connect in the top yoke

  10. Sounds expensive if you have a spill, new top yoke for a clip on.

  11. no, the clip ons mount normally on the fork leg, under the top clamp, and you get a little banana piece to go in the top clamp to clamp the fork.

  12. They look like part of the casting of the top yoke to me.

  13. They are not, there is a bolt as shown in the picture and then a pivot at the other side, so when you put the clip ons you get a little section to replace it. It’s exactly the same as what BMW have done with the S1000rr as I said

  14. I’m not familiar with the s1000rr but maybe I’ve missed something as you say :upyeah:

  15. Here…. They look moulded in but they aren’t, you can see the line where the bar is separate.

And with the race kit bars you can see the little piece added in

  16. Got it! Thanks Phil. Ooh that’s a weird set up!

  17. Seems like a lot of old man whingeing on this thread with very little substance to it.
Ducati seemed to have decided that the V2 Panigale will be about the fun side of sportsbiking rather than big numbers for top trumps. Surely that's what biking is for most of us?
The reviews so far say they have hit the spot very sweetly.

  18. Oh, you mean the normal stream of sycophantic reviews from Journos who on being wined-and-dined by Ducati just reel off the PR spiel they are given and tells us how much more superior the new model is compared to the outgoing model?

  19. if you watch the videos from the big outlet they are very nearly ‘scripted’ in how they deliver the comments, it’s only 44t that comes out and says he think it lacks power.

  20. The marketing for this bike is actually a bit deranged, they are overdoing their push against the initial not so positive reaction to the lower power/being more like a Supersport replacement. The latest one today is that they have given Marquez what he dreamed of for his birthday - a brand new V2S. I'm sure Marquez couldn't get over the sheer performance after a lifetime on terrible Moto GP bikes
