Removing Spot/fog Lights - Will I Get A Dash Warning ?

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Boggy, Feb 18, 2025.

  1. Hi folks.
Hopefully a simple question for the hive mind (!).
When removing functional OEM Ducati Spot/Fogs (ie ones that have been properly activated and functional), does their subsequent removal need to be accompanied by a de-activation or can I remove and not worry about a dash warning message or error code popping up saying 'fog lights defective' or some other sh1t, should I accidentally hit the fog light button ?!
    Many thanks.
    Rich.

  2. Not too sure about the answer to that. Couldn't you just unplug them at the connector down near each spotlight and try it out?

  3. Bumpkin, hoping someone will know tbh.
I'm selling my bike mate, upgrading to 1260. I've got the spotlights off but would like to understand if there's going to be an error code when/if the new buyer collects as I haven't started the bike up yet after their removal ! Thx. Rich.

  4. Shame you aren't closer, I could disable them for you.

  5. Aww. Thx, that's very kind mate. I can confirm no error code on start up so if the new owner wants to fit fog/spot lights then at least the ECU has already got them enabled. That'll save some hassle. Ta. Rich.

  6. Rich, assuming you will be looking for a home for these when you eventually remove them, give me a shout!

  7. Sorry mate, they're going on the new bike !

  8. Thinking about it, I may have a second set Tony including brackets. I'll come back to you ..........

  9. :upyeah::) If you have then hopefully they will fit onto and work with a V4S Mutli..........

  10. I think you need the smaller black ones for the V4, the larger silver ones don’t fit (as far as I know)

  11. Hopefully not, as they look inferior IMO and when being followed by a bike with them fitted, their beam looks inferior too.

  12. Yes I agree, not as bright

  13. Interestingly, for the replacement 1260S I'm buying which doesn't have spot/fogs currently fitted, the garage were able to activate them using their Texa unit in preparation for me fitting them once I get the bike back home ! Cool !!
