Just attempted this and sadly I had no joy (I suspect my phone isnt compatible). Think its time to finally get rid of the Sony Bravia that i can't really afford to do/want to do, but will give me a great deal of joy throwing in a skip.
My understanding was that Eurosport was disappearing as a channel, and it is all getting subsumed into TNT at the end of February? I'm not bothered about bike racing these days, but do watch a lot of snooker and pool.
The main reason I had to subscribe to the sky TV minimum package was that it got me Eurosport with it's wsbk and BSB coverage. Just renewed the contract, not happy, but will see what coverage I can get via quest or discovery + at no extra cost. Certainly won't be coughing up for TNT at £30 a month. Usually record the wsbk & BSB coverage and catch up when it suits.
I am in the same predicament I pay over £100 per month to Sky, admittedly it's more for broadband and telephone in that cost than Sky itself but I really don't fancy paying another £30 just to watch bike racing. I also like to record it and watch it at my leisure. Although not a perfect solution as it only covers World Superbike I was considering video pass. Finally, I haven't watched MotoGP in years due to its original move to BT and having to pay for it, so that may be the clincher, If I can watch all 3 for the extra cost should I decide to go the TNT route, although I don't like being tied into the 2-year contract as I am now completely out of contract with Sky.
I believe you can get a rolling 31 day contract for TNT through Sky. You may have to talk to an agent to get it rather than adding it to your package online. I did this at the end of the football season last year, ie, signed up for a couple of months, then got rid. N.B. Going through Sky doesn't give you access to the TNT app, should that be a requirement.
Reading that it’s ONLY Eurosport uk going. Yet again we get fucked over as consumers. This place is shit. If I could retire elsewhere I’d be off. Can’t get Dr appt. Can’t get NHS help. Schools overflowing with many having lost their core reason for being. Cities and towns becoming overrun and unsafe. Bins not emptied. Roads not cleaned. Fuel costs thru the roof and a govt who is doing what it can to drive devision in society and drop UK into more poverty and become a 3rd world Islamic state. If I could retire and do it somewhere else, I would.
WSBK out of the 3, MotoGP, WSBK & BSB is the only one I’d really miss. I’ve watched MotoGP highlights on ITV4 on a Monday as I’ve never had Sky or BT or TNT sports as I’m not interested in football, rugby, cricket etc so don’t want to pay for those. I find BSB a bit dull and not as good as WSBK to watch. But all 3 on TNT for £30 a month is tempting but I’d rather it stayed on Eurosport for free. I might see what the free coverage is like for the first month or so before committing to TNT. As a Sky VIP member it’s a 2 year deal for me offered at £29 per month for TNT
My neighbour has a BT Sport/TNT account so I’m going to ask him if I can use his login and cast from iPad to TV.
Few more details here. A third of BSB to be shown on free to air Quest along with all MGP sprint races https://www.motorsportmagazine.com/...als-reshaping-motogp-and-other-racing-series/
Typical Max Oxley article I’m currently one of who knows how many thousands of out of contract BT broadband customers who are about to be ditched when BT leaves the residential market place and hands us over to EE on outrageously disadvantaged contracts. Spent an hour with an EE advisor who came to the startling conclusion I would be better off cancelling BT and joining EE as a new subscriber. Andy
The deal that WSBK/TNT/Discovery+/Eurosport/whatever had in place to change coverage on 28 Feb (to TNT only) has changed to THIS WEEKEND, so anyone, like me, without 'Premium' subscription to Discovery+, etc won't be able to watch
Just took the plunge to use the 7-month 50%-discount Discovery+/TNT promo and.... it doesn't work - it's only for new subscriptions. Hopefully their very helpful staff will respond to my email and sort it out. Urgh again
If you need to go that route a Firecube is much better. I use a 2nd generation of Firecube and it's perfect. Plenty of sideloaded apps and a few debrid subscriptions plus Syncler+ and apart from sports, which generally don't interest me, I am overall saving a lot compared to various Sky packages. I might just bite the bullet and sign up for TNT sports for a discounted £29 using my Sky VIP subscription as I haven't watched Motogp for a while and then I can watch all 3. I just paid £12 odd to watch the WsBK Dorna channel In order to watch the first round this weekend. I only committed to one month, and then in April I will go for TNT as I have no choice. Overall I don't have a problem as that is where these mergers are going and every time the choice narrows. I know my outgoings for the year and it will be swings and roundabouts for me.
