Hi Suffering a bit on long trips so can anyone tell me if the Ducati comfort seat is worth buying? Was also thinking about trying an Airhawke cover over the existing seat but I don't want to waste cash so has anyone used the Airhawke on an MTS and are they any good?
I have the touring seat (2010 version if that makes any difference) and I find it extremely comfortable. Have done several 400 plus mile days and a couple of 600+. However, my trick is that I always wear cycle shorts (with crotch padding) ! I find these brilliant, on any ride......... Everybody raves about AirHawk seats but I tried one on another bike many years ago & didn't like the feeling, it will also raise you off the ground more, even when lightly inflated, which I believe is correct.
I bought the optional seat, but it seems hardly any more comfortable than the standard seat. Neither is really comfortable enough in comparison with (say) a BMW. I have considered the air hawk option, but have never got round to trying one. I would be glad to hear the views of others.
I had two GS 1200's before the Multi and find the Multi more comfortable........I think that sums up most forum discussions, biking is such a personal thing
I am with you on that one, I had a GS for 3 years before the multi, tried the airhawk and it was a huge improvement. Then used a sheep skin, one of our own sheep, that was great, and it was also a great talking point! But I have found no need for either with the Multi seat, its wider than the GS seat and suits me bum great! By far the best seat I have used for years, but it is a personal thing. I may even be able to dig out the Airhawk if someone wants to buy it, pm me if interested.
I have a gel seat that I'm using for a euro trip this summer. Very comfy for an hour long trial ride this week.
I have the ducati comfort seat on my 999 and find it much more comfortable than the standard one. When I first bought it back in about 05 they were selling for over 100 on Ebay and were only 74 brand new from Ducati He He. Had it on my S and now on my R.
