So what have you done today..?

  1. its a funky place and brilliant for used parts on old bikes. They also have some interesting bikes, some at good prices, some not so good. Loads of old bikes that need a resto. RD400 (5) for £4.5-£5.5K. A fair cond RGV250 too. They are all (or mostly all) US imports.

Have a sqizz here, but the listings are only for maybe 30% of their stock.

Don't stand too close to those Z9's, the nostalgia is washes over you like a wave. For a second I was 16 again, seeing one on Rob Willisher Suzuki's forecourt. I was almost £10K lighter...

  2. Thanks, looks like an interesting place.
Definitely a destination for a ride out.

  3. Yeah I like there too. They used to have a scuzzy cafe too, but it shut -never to reopen- in the time of the plague. Lots of parking.

  4. Booked a viewing up in the peak district for early next week. Going to see an ongoing business (coffee shop/cafe) with a 2 bed apartment above it with a view to a MASSIVE career and life change. More to follow.

  5. Needs to be set up like the cafe at Grindleford, worth a visit whilst you're up there. The original owner was/is legendary for his rules.

Chip butties and mug of Tea were our favourite after a day of climbing in the Peaks, gets mixed reviews lol.

  6. Been to my new house to meet with a shutter company so they could measure up and quote for the front of the house. Now waiting for a call from Charles Church to see whether they can have the house ready before the end of March so I can beat the stamp duty rise.

Also re-insured the bike at my new address...........the premium is 49% less than last years cost! Result!!

  8. I know the one you mean lol. We’re peaky deaky veterans in this house.

Have to say it seems to good to be true and I’m holding my breath for the moment.

The guy running it now seems to have bought it as some kind of toy and barely opens it but I’ve been on FB and the reviews are honestly really good, especially the coffee.

The new chefs kitchen he’s had installed is a work of art but when you look at the menu the only hot food he’s cooking is bacon eggs and mushrooms haha. Nuts and so much potential especially with the booze license.

It’s in a prime spot tourist/hiker/biker wise too and has excellent parking options.

I’m really excited to see it.

  9. Happy to do front of house but I would defo need a chef. im thinking dog/biker/hiker/cyclist friendly cafe a stones throw away from ladybower reservoir and the “proper” peaks.
I know it will be hard graft to start with but I’m so bored and I need something to get my teeth into without wasting my efforts for someone else.

  15. The Hope Valley region is very popular due mainly to its location to large cities that surround area and easy transport links
Building in the ‘massive change of life’ must factor in when considering such a leap.
Good luck, hope the viewing goes well for you.

  19. Last Thursday Charles Church were saying the house would be ready April/May time......then on Friday the site manager said he thought he could have it ready by end of March to beat the stamp duty rise that comes into effect on 1st April..........and I've just had it confirmed this evening by the sales guy on site that it's on for the 31st March

However I've also got licence to stay in mine till 7th April if need be to allow me to get a removal company sorted (cos no doubt they'll be rushed off their feet for the end of March).

  20. Something in the region of 100,000 peeps are rushing to exchange before the deadline according to a segment I listened to on Radio 2 recently.o_O
