A few days in...........

  1. Bike was delivered last Wednesday in glorious sunshine – unfortunately they forgot to remove all the ghastly plastic heat shielding (will be done at the 600 mileservice) but it’s still a thing of beauty. Even Mrs T thinks it looks great. Just need to sort the tail tidy out.

Is it weird that I keep making excuses to go down to the garage to take a peek!?

The comfort seat is a must as I was almost sliding off the bike on the test ride plus the small increase in seat height adds to comfort for my old 6’ 1” frame. Regarding comfort it’s infinitely more comfortable than my old 999 and an hour’s blast Sunday morning resulted in no aches or pains whatsoever.

I found the EBC a bit intrusive but it’s a lot better now I have changed the setting. I am wondering if this caused the stalling sensation I felt a couple of times when down shifting to a halt at traffic lights – it never did though.

It’s a little rough at low RPM but I suppose it’s a compromise for emissions etc. Chris at CJS will sort all this out when he sorts the fuelling and custom maps the ECU when the termis are fitted.

Apart from the very first time I started it up I haven’t seen any of the smoke some people seem to report.

Handling seems top notch to me, set to flat, as long as you keep to smooth tarmac.

Only gripe and it’s a PDI and not a bike issue is that the gear selector bolt couldn’t have been very tight as it vibrated loose and the allen key in the tool kit is the wrong size!!! I managed to tighten it by hand to get home.

Other than that over the moon – just need to get it run in before it sees Brands onthe 17[SUP]th[/SUP]. Pani 1.jpg Pani 2.jpg

  2. Nice, it is, indeed, a thing of beauty.

  3. Wooop Woopp...wear well.

  4. looks fabulous, did you buy it from Riders as you are Bristol based?

  5. Yes - just on the outskirts near Cribbs.

  6. Hi mate , glad you like yer bike . When it's run in you'll love it. As for the smoke on start up the 2013 bike has different piston rings to the 2012 bike so it should not smoke.
You must put the full termi system on it it makes it a hole lot better and sounds fookin awesome .

  7. don't think Glid would approve of your log stacking but nice wheels all the same

  8. ref the smoking mine is a 2013 year it smoked until about 800 miles also have herd the termi system is actually quieter than std ? and it doesn't make that much more power, this was off the dealer and a man who has a termi fitted was fancy putting one on , but would like to see for defo if its worth doing .

  9. I'm having some termis and a custom map done the week after next so will report back on some before and after figures.

Not really bothered about more power but if it smooths things out a bit I will be happy. Chris at CJS usually works wonders so I have high hopes.

  10. are you getting the system or cans be nice to know figures

  11. Cans - I think the custom map bit will be the important part.

  12. stunning, enjoy :upyeah:
