916 Dealer Recommendation South East

Discussion in '748 / 916 / 996 / 998' started by Ti-Tech, Mar 17, 2025.

  1. I'm thinking of getting my 916 Throttle bodies setup with the position sensor and co2 levels done,
My local workshops are Pro Twins, Ducati Croydon and Moto Rapido.
Does anyone have any good experiences with either of these guys; or someone else you could recommend in the south east, i have been told about Luigi moto but Bristol is a bit far for me.

  2. Those that will express an opinion will have their positive or negative experiences. I have bought bikes from and had bikes serviced at Moto Rapido for 22 years, they are my retailer of choice but I know some on here have had a different experience to me. Whilst I don't use them, you also have Snells in Alton. Andy

  3. Add Scott at SNS as an option, or L2 Servicing.

Both excellent highly regarded Ducati specialists

  4. I also use Moto Rapido for my Panigale.
For 916 era bikes I tend to use Geoff at Baines Racing at Silverstone. He is excellent.
These is also an ex Snells tech in Southampton PG Performance. I have not used them personally but other members on here have and rate them.

  5. I'm on the South West London borders and my nearest dealer by some distance is Ducati Croydon, where I purchased the bike and had the initial services. I now take it to Snells in Alton, considerably further away.

  6. Come and join the Surrey Ducati Owners Club mate, loads of great advice and local knowledge regarding your question there for sure.

  7. +1, perfect for a job like this. He has looked after my 998S for many years.

  8. And don’t be put off if his website is down/shit. Just call him.

  9. Paul at PG performance will do a good job for you, he has plenty of experience in setting them up.

  10. Too modest and 'under the radar' for his own good, I'm recommending Alf at Alf's Motorcycles in Worthing.
He's built/raced this era of Ducati throughout Europe for over 30 years.
I bought my 748 from him in '97 - he's still the only one that works on it. It's a ringing endorsement.

  11. MR are always a safe bet. Pro Twins have had a love/hate relationship with their customer base over the years. I've bought from both of them and in my personal experience, have never had an issue, but I know others who have had less than optimal dealings with the latter. Both are hugely knowledgable dealers (in particular PT, who date back to their days working at Fast By Ferraci in the early 90's in Sussex on 888's and the then new 916, before setting up independently) and have been in the game for a long time. They have an encyclopedic understanding of the 916 (as do JHP), perhaps more so than MR.

  13. Thanks for all the recommendations everyone.
Some of these guys should really advertise, i mean they must be missing out on a fair bit of work by not being visible online.

  14. As is often the case for small one man independents, word of mouth brings in enough business. An internet presence could inundate them and potentially damage reputation. Andy

  15. I think that's right. I tease Geoff Baines about the state of his website - check it out -

    - but he says he's too busy as it is.
