  1. ..............Honda 50 mopeds, plus other mopeds, 'going like hell and riding like nutters' (allegedly)....one after another coming towards me while I was out for a quick blast...........

    ...........what was that all about?

It was like clocking off time at a Jap factory...........

....and it made me laugh, but most nodded to me.........but my neck aches from nodding back ---- See? I'm not a snob.

  2. I am a snob, I only nod a 'proper' bikes because scooters and mopeds tent to ignore me.

  3. Probably too busy puttin' up their "tents" to see you

  4. Just nod at every 5-10 or so, not every one! They must have thought you were off to a SlipKnot gig!

Talking of smaller bikes - saw an NS125 two days back with the rider dressed only in shorts, trainers & helmet...

  5. They're probably just frightened of the noise your Duc makes

I always acknowledge all bikers, even chicken chasers & old scooters ..... many of the twist n go mob are only riding them because there isn't really another cheap option in the <125cc market .......... and some of those things can be made to hussle along in town traffic, albeit in a wobbly kind of handling way

  6. Hope they learn from others and not the hard (road rash) way .......

  7. Clearly you don't live in London!

  8. I have a new bike-waving rule. I only wave back if I'm not doing anything taxing at the time. This means that when slamming on the brakes for the next hairpin on the Col, I don't bother to wave back or even look at them. On the other hand, bumbling through villages waiting for the infinity signs, I'm happy to wave to anyone. There were a zillion trillion bikes out today. I just really can't be bothered to wave at everyone.

All in favour of waving in theory though - to me it means that all is well and there isn't a police radar trap hidden in a hedge a mile up the road.
