899 Launch tonight?

  1. Well I've played with the configurator and blinged it as much as I could but I couldn't get it to read 998 ....[IMG]

  2. A quanto ammontano i Termignoni del?

  3. Then some other twot to say its not happening and its all a fairy tale

  4. I quote:-

If the 849 / 899 Panigale can enter the market in base for at £10,999, with an S variant coming in at £12,249, and maybe an R or Tricolore at £13,999, the Audi owned Italian factory could see another surge of buying activity. They’re on target to shift all the 1199s in the country this year (750), and the smaller bike is unlikely to be easy to differentiate at less than twenty paces, giving it instant ‘is it, isn’t it’ kudos on the street. It’s also inevitable that it’ll be a less intimidating slice of exotica for the average rider. Triumph’s Daytona 675R currently bosses the middleweight sector with a firm hand, but at £9,999, it’s already dangerously close to falling over the £10k barrier, whereas the MV Agusta F3 already tips the scales at £10,299.

  5. Shame it wasn't Dave, glad I didn't hold my breath! If I was in the market for a small sports bike then I'm afraid that this wouldn't distract me from the MV 675....but then I do own one of the best models Ducati have, so far, produced:wink:

  6. until there is clear fact...

  7. Not impressed with the new bikes Ducati are putting out, yeah it/they look ok but take the badges off and would it be instantly recognisable as a Ducati, i think not, they seem to be soul less jap lookalikes.
Thats what i like about Dukes, you know its a Duke.....or used to anyway.

  8. ....back when Europe was Ducati's key market, now we get what the US market demands, no?

  9. I have never come across such a bunch of luddites in all my time! Every time Ducati bring out a new bike everybody immediately says they hate it, that it's not a 'proper' Ducati, that they're sticking with their 916/848/1198/whatever - then all of a sudden a deposit has been laid down and it's the best bike ever made!

I have never come across this phenomenon with any other marque. It totally baffles me - almost as much as someone saying they won't buy a great sportsbike because they don't like the look of the swingarm...

  10. That's the thing that's made me giggle in all of these critiques.

  11. Looks like a cracking little (it's 900cc) bike. I'm sure Ducati will sell plenty of them, even at £12,500.

  12. Big question, is it on sale Right now? Because they have removed the 848 evo's from the Ducati site and replaced with 899? Or will dealers just be taking per-orders until feb/march. Seems a while away?

  13. Ducati Manchester are trying to sell me one right now for November delivery

  14. That's answered that, I know there was only 1 new 848 evo left in red in the country, but my dealer was saying he thinks they will string it out a bit to build interest. I guess with financials the way they are in the world and over Christmas they just want to sell them!

  15. Just in time for winter

  16. you know it's just not 'trendy' to say you like a product these days even if you own similar yourself. The way to look 'cool' is to pull it to pieces before it's even been officially released (apparently). :)

  17. but with a crappy swingarm....

  18. why blow £12+k on it, when you can get a gorgeous 1198/1098R for that sort of money?
I guess its if you want the latest reg i guess.
In terms of looks the 848 has it by a country mile over the 899..
I love Ducati(s), and i hate being disappointed..Unfortunately, this does nothing for me...If Aprilia did a twin and i needed a new bike, id be going in that direction.

  19. give it 5 minutes, there will be a Panistrada soon enough...
