First day at Philip Island a bit wet, but got two sessions in. The museum has a whole section devoted to the GOAT.
Jet lag keeping me up, so good time to post some pics…. Fast Group had a few Australian Superbike dudes like Troy Herfoss and his mates Harrison Voigt and some kid called Oliie Bayliss. I can honestly say I have never been more thrilled to be overtaken by such a decent bunch. Pic 1 Voigt slows down for “traffic” (me). Pic 2 Voigt without traffic Pic 3 Me trying really hard to be a teenager Pic 4 Me pretending I know something, Troy Herfoss listening politely Pic 5 Voigt, Waters & Herfoss ASB 2024. I might have a vid shortly featuring slow camera bike (me) passed by truly epic riders
Amazing! I was there riding on the 3rd on my old 999 race bike. Great circuit, just landed back in the uk this morning
Heading to to Fortuna Murcia to take on the twelve year olds. I say “take on”, it’s a pointless task really? They smash us every time.
A little pre-season race prep on the 748R. New rubber, distilled water in the rad, floating discs, new pads, shims race settings, chain and sprockets (+ 1 tooth), rain light and new clutch pack.
Doni on Monday for the “race shake down”. On the GP circuit, but hoping to crack a theoretical 1:20 on the National on the 748R.
Chilly first run out of the season last week at Donington. Couple of bits to sort before Brno in a couple of months
Lookin’ guurd… lucky you, love Brno. You’ve got the perfect bike for it. Proper superbike track, Brno… Still a bit cool for Donington for sissies like me. Cramer Curves lays in wait for the cold tyred Cavalier
After 3 reds in the first 3 advanced sessions all at Cramer, running out on ambulances and having a lovely oil slick from Hollywood right through Craner it was definitely too cold in the AM. Hoping to get another in to make sure the bikes ready for Brno, never been but it looks absolutely amazing.
You’ll love Brno, promise. My favourite euro. Never done Mugello (will try) but Brno takes some beating for a Euro gig.. enjoy!
I cracked my theoretical 1:20 National lap, but joined the Craner Club in session three Never mind, time and money will solve everything
Yeah the bikes don’t usually fare well bouncing down there. It’s an exhilarating section of track but there’s a price to pay if all goes tits up… anyhow, as long as you’re okay
