  2. are they not still available through ducati?

  3. I am sure they are.
    I have not tried.
One hex and well- nut is (I think) a part that is fitted to several bikes in the range.
    This is a forum of like-minded people....as I see it .
If someone has one to spare, I was offering money, not wanting it for free

What's the point of a forum if the default answer is......
Just call your local Ducati dealer ???.
    Bikes for sale,
    Technical help,
    Specific bike forums
    Etc, etc

  4. Not to be unhelpful but I don't believe that Allen head bolt is an original Ducati part.
If I remember correctly from when I had a 748 and 916, the screen screws were a tiny torx recess and were not such a bright gold colour as yours.
Perhaps your screen bolts are aftermarket so one would need to know what make in order to match them.

  5. Brother..
I apologise. I think my response was unintentionally abrupt.
You are absolutely right, I'm sure the part is obtainable from a dealer.
Please have a great Easter break.

  6. I believe you need part ref 69920721A.

  7. and that is why the wellnut has collapsed in that way in your picture, as the originals hang on for much longer despite ageing.

you can get aftermarket similar to yours, which do the job pretty well:-

originals are expensive and look like this:-

  8. Thank you all for your sage advice.
These I have (left) may well not be original as suggested and are clearly aged.
Even if offered one for free, by the time I returned the favour with beer tokens, it is cheaper to buy a new set.
Money isn't everything and it's good to talk.
    Ebay it is....

I have seven or so used 748 hex's if anyone is interested...........nurse, nurse..

  9. Found these.
    Free if you want them.

  14. Get lost
    Brother,
I had had a beer and fired off on a poster...totally unjustified on my part.
My apology is in open court on this thread somewhere.
    Normal service has been resumed...
