  1. Has anyone please got any pictures and advice please on powering up the carpuride on my MS1260s I’m not too electrically minded but believe there is a power source under the left fairing I’m just wondering how I connect to it thx in advance

  2. I presume the 1260is the same.

  3. Thank you so much

  4. I’ve just bought the carpuride w702 pro now I’m thinking Tom Tom which one do people use I want to be able to take phone calls if needed etc I will be getting an intercom fitted to my helmet but I’m really unsure of set ups any advice please

  5. I use the Zumo XT with my 1260. I pair my GPS, phone, comms unit and bike together in a weird web of Bluetooth and as such can control media and calls via the bike whilst also being able to control on the GPS directly.

  6. Thanks for the reply so you can take call properly with a sat nav as opposed to a carpuride ? I like the screen size on the carpuride and the capability to accept calls but worry somewhat with it not being independent sat nav this is all a new entity to me as this is my first sport tourer so naive as to what set up thx

  7. I have have an Android Pixel 8 phone that is paired to the Carpuride and to my Sena headset, I do not pair to the bike at all, that has been problematic in the past. I use TomTom Go and MRA as Apps on the phone for navigation (other apps are available - Except Calimoto who only support Apple Carplay). I can use Spotify and take calls etc via the Carpuride screen once it is set up. Only downside is battery drain on the phone so carry a small powerpack with you for longer rides.

  8. Thanks I’ve got a quad lock charger hard wired to the battery so phone will be ok
So it all works well ? Is there a specific Tom Tom app to use thx

  9. No - I don't use any Bluetooth connection to the bike at all. I know the bike can be used as a BT hub but cant see the benefit myself and in the past Ducati BT has had issues.

PS - I prefer to have my phone in a waterproof jacket pocket rather than mounted on the bike -

  10. I agree with @Veetwin, using the bike's Bluetooth is pretty pointless. Sure you might be able to control your media player and answer calls using the switchgear but for me that's too fiddly. It also adds another connection into the process, just asking for trouble. The Carpuride and its touch screen work better IMHO and connect directly to the phone. I'm using MRA mainly but also Google maps when I'm lazy. My phone is powered in the tank bag via a 12v USB charger that plugs into the DIN socket on the right side of the cockpit. This maintains the phone's charge.

The Carpuride I have powered off of the GPS power source to the left of the headstock. Mount is an Evotech one with the QuadLock system as well as one of Evotech's QuadLock plates for the back of the Carpuride.

Since the above photos I've created a custom boot screen and installed it onto the Carpuride. Create your own by using an image of the correct proportions (1024x600 for the W702Pro) and then using the generator here to create the installation file. You then put this onto an SD card to load onto the Carpuride.

I've used this setup on a few rides so far, testing in earnest over the course of this year with at least one European tour already planned.

  11. Thank you very much I have got the iconic mount just ordered the evotech interface plate
can I ask is there a way to scale the logo or photo you want to use to fit correctly thanks again

  12. I'm running iPhone in my pocket, Carpuride for music, Waze, Rever, text and calls, Zumo XT for GPX and creating rides, and Sena 50 for listening to music and speaking with others in ducati group I ride with. I don't use the Ducati integration.

I'd suggest staying with the carpuride. Essentially, its CarPlay. I like that I can hear and see "Police Reported Ahead" using Waze, and a larger map for exploring is beneficial. If you have a iPhone, you'll want it in your pocket, otherwise, it may overheat, shutting everything down on you. Like someone else said, at lunch break, put your phone on a quick charger in your pocket, and you'll want to quick charge your comms. Get in the habit of doing at lunch and you'll always be good. The phone stays in the pocket because if in a crash, and you are separated from bike, you'll still have your phone on you to call for assistance. I ran carpuride straight to my battery. I can leave it plugged in and it doesn't drain the battery. My two cents.

  13. I decided confirm the carpiride w702 pro wired into the nav connection on the last hand side really pleased with how it turned out I have also fitted a quad lock charge mount for my phone along with a phone poncho if there’s a shower and a MagSafe power bank so I put my phone in my pocket if there’s rain is really bad so think I’ve covered all bases I have attached a photo to be honest I’m just a bit unsure of the quad lock charge mount I don’t know if it looks a bit clustered image.jpg
