Had a really good day with it at the weekend. The best yet. I had been messing with the suspension settings in an attempt to find a better ride and must have gone too far as it started wallowing on the bends. Anyway, reset it to default having now completed 1900+ miles and it's totally different feel from when it was new. I wonder if new suspension needs bedding in because it no longer appears to be trying to crush my spine at every bump. (might be because I now know where the little blighters are) but it's definately better.
That's quite a price hike over the standard 848, Ducati Aylesbury have the standard listed at £11,150. So, new model, 1.4K price hike! Lovely looking bike but the prices are getting ridiculous. Still it won't be long before the buy it, put 200 miles on it, sell it brigade start I suppose
There are plenty of 12month old 1199's out there with just running in miles on them for the same money as a new 899. If you're not bothered about buying 2nd hand the 1199 with it's higher spec and more power would make more sense to me. Don't like that swingarm, Why didn't they leave it single sided!?.
in newcastle it seems our ducati dealer feels fit to charge over £1000 more than manchester of scotland for the same bike with lots more miles on the clock. little surprise they dont shift many and seem to have the same old stock for ages..
On the face of it it is a hike over the standard 848 Evo but my understanding is that it has additional goodies that put it on a par with the Evo Corse plus some: Quick shifter Traction Control ABS Slipper Clutch (Manchester told me this but I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere) and of course a double swing arm (two for the price of one  ) So that takes the price up into the 848 EC SE territory.
Like all these new models, you expect higher spec so a slight increase in price to match. What will be interesting is when they bench it against gixer 750 and thousands, as it sits no where in the range against other bikes so if it comes out well against the thou's could be the bike to have
