Is there any such thing as a guaranteed waterproof boot? My Sidi Vertigos look the business and are really comfortable but leak like a seive. Luckily I only discovered this on the last leg of an overseas trip
TCX infinity goretex are a fantastic boot. More of a M X style but they do a sports boot that is gore tex.
Altberg Clubman Roadster. Not the most fashionable boot but comfy and totally waterproof. They have done well in Ride tests. For a sock thats cooler in summer and warmer in winter - use merino wool. We use Teko or Falke socks, both top quality merino wool socks availabe from Altberg online at discounted prices. I have no link other than owning several pairs of boots from them for different disciplines. Top class boots made in the UK.
After having a few different pairs of Daytona's, I finally settled on a pair of Evo Sports GTX, and would never buy another brand of boot.....they are awesome!
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I remember watching an episode of 'Long Way Down' with McGregor and Boorman. By the time they got to Dover in torrential rain they were emptying the water out of their boots by the pint! All their kit was donated and it was top $. You'd have thought with their back up and sponsorship they'd have got it right.
ummmm? Cant remember - got the DVD somewhere. If their leggings were tucked in.......schoolboy error. Cant believe they'd do that. I think they used to wear those safari suits so the boots would go under.
Anth those boots look interesting, they may keep your feet dry but they look like something a vet would wear while delivering calves.lol.
I must admit as semi off road biased the MTS is I think the controls are too sports bike like to consider full on MX boots.
OneWheelDrive.Net » Alpinestars SMX Gore-Tex Boots – Meh These are the business. Quite simply, one of the best things I have ever bought. I think I must have had them almost 10 years now and they are still going strong. Comfortable, great on the bike and totally waterproof. When they finally give up the ghost (if they ever do) I'm going straight out to buy another pair.
Altberg every time. There's a very good reason they are the boot of choice by most couriers and almost all police and MOD motorcyclists. Last forever, walk all day long in comfort in them when you need to, handmade in Yorkshire and custom fitted if you visit the factory, and all for less money than a pair of Italian off the shelf sports boots.
Ha....the OP did only ask for waterproof boot suggestions.....there was no stipulation as to what he was going to do in them  Banus might commute to work at a farm
Ive got the Sidi Vertigo GoreTex version, had them for four years, spent all day riding in shocking rain once or twice and they were dry as a bone. Bit more pricey, but recommended. Not warm enough as a full on winter boot, but fine for 3 seasons.
