First ride after the last surgery on my leg Oct 2011 - Fan....bloody.....tastic! - I could hardly forget what fun the Mutley is to ride but boy did I have the biggest grin on my face all the way!! Did better than I'd expected with my leg still giving me trouble and 7 months off the bike......stopped afer just 30 miles riding not quite as gently as I'd intended rolleyes to give my leg a quick stretch... Decided that as I was feeling pretty good and the weather was ideal I'd better head further afield.....a few of my favourite local(ish) roads were beckoning! (not least of which the B390 over the outskirts of Salisbury Plain! ) Home before 11:30am with the temp having risen from a very pleasant 16C to a getting a bit warm 25C.......138 miles, not far but a good start.......138 smiles ......sore but HAPPY!
Oh Wow, hey congratulations Andy, so pleased it went well, and what a great day for it as well
Hopefully the first of many to come Andy, take it in easy steps and enjoy. Look forward to seeing you out and about.
At last Andy! and on a glorious day too, just like here in OZ at the moment. Mrs W ??? I didn't see any pillion footrests. Hope they didn't all fall off. ;-)
I did a few short runs up to about the same as you to check I was ok, then did LEJOG, 1966 miles in 6 days to check I was really ok post op and am now happy I'll be up to 2012's taste of Europe in July. Great feeling once you realise you can ride again isn't it? I'd last ridden a bike in Nov 2009 before climbing aboard my new Multi.
Nice one Andy - glad to have you back with us Unfortunately, I've managed to synchronise an enforced layoff for me with you just getting back Fractured wrist - so minimum of another 4 weeks from today in a cast - I'm sooo glad it's hot and sunny (NOT!)
Sorry to hear that, Mate. I fractured mine two weeks ago today and had it plated and pinned the next day. I already have good movement back though i suspect it will be another 4 weeks before i can even contemplate riding a bike. I have no plaster on mine at all.
Sorry to hear that duke63....speedy recovery Many thanks everyone for the kind comments  .............if she is it's nothing to do with me! rofl Wow!.....I know for sure it'll be a long while before I'm up to those sort of miles again. Bugger, sorry to hear that Steve, hope your recovery is as quick as possible and trouble free........see you later in the Summer.
