BIKE Magazine Bike of Year 2013

  1. If I was tall enough to jump on one then I would

  2. I read 'em all, it's a habit I can't cure, spend a fortune every month on bike mags. The only one I don't buy is MCN, cos it's utter fucking shite:mad:

  3. Out of all the bike mags I've read, BIKE is by far the most boring

  4. It's a matter of opinion isn't it.

PB and Fast Bikes are boring to me. There's only so many 600 shoot outs one can read about.

  5. You clearly don't read Ride magazine then...

  6. So if the Panigale had been voted best, or in the top 3. Bike Mag would have been alright after all then Flyer?

Those lists are always ridiculous. There was one recently for the "50 most iconic bikes" - now there's a can of worms if ever there was one!

  7. Is this a bike mag bash or BMW bashing exercise? Not sure but all I can say is that after buying a 2013 GSLC as an every day machine I can honestly say it is the most complete bike I have ever ridden ,I urge you to test one and You will be amazed.still very much a duke fan boy as I have owned them for quite a few years ,still have the SPS and cannot see this being moved on yet ,but have to agree with bike magazine on this outcome of the test,I cannot fault the GS!

  8. Bit of both really. Hey, everyone needs a hobby...

  9. ahh so you are one of the 14 subscribers nationwide :)

  10. I must be

  11. just bought fast bikes as was drawn to the gsxr 1000 k5 article...
used to own one and was pondering another as they are superb.
an interesting read with a s1000rr slant on it !

  12. I must have a look at that, having a K6 track bike I'm looking for info and best mods etc. must say it loses not a lot to more modern thou's on straight, if anything. Brakes are crap tho compared to my Evo

  13. The Pani R will never rank high overall because if you switch your emotions off and remove your heart it's a bike that's expensive to buy, expensive to service and insure, parts cost a fortune, has poor fuel economy, uncomfortable to ride............the list goes on. It's for the same reason a Ford Mondeo will always rank top whilst Ferrari and Lamborghini are down the bottom of the pile. These things are exotica, when you buy them you don't care about the sensibility of them, as they tug on your heart.

  14. I had one too. Fantastic bike :upyeah:

  15. Exactly what I was thinking, it is the R version they list so far down so maybe the standard Pani is further up.

even still as its been said £ for £ is the Panigale good enough? It may be a Ducati and may be the most technically advanced twin to date but that doesn't mean they got it right for everybody's taste.

  16. Anyone got the full list for context?

  17. Bike is a good mag but really, what a stoopid fookin list, that sh1t really bugs me. Nout to do with the Panigale being way down but just a stoopid idea of a list.

  18. Don't buy the mag then...

  19. BMW Monthly, sorry I mean Bike magazine, used to be outstanding. In recent years, however, it's gone through more re-launches than the Conservative Party, the Labour Party, the Lib Dems, Argos, M&S and BhS put together. It seems it doesn't know where to position itself in the market. Whereas FB, PB and Superbike have stuck to their guns, Bike just seems to be all at sea and apart from featuring cover to cover BMW's, it doesn't seem to know what it's target audience is.

  20. It's got the wrong editor for the job at the moment, I reckon. Wilson is more a classic bike dude.
