Hi Andy, ok great, will real interested to know about your gt. just put my deposit down on mine, take delivery on the 8th oct. where do ride from? v
Bit random really, I,ve had all manner of sportsbikes, then I thought I would get a speed triple, which I brought march 12, loved it! but really wanted a more touring bike which would do everything! tested a caponord 1200!which was excellent, but was worried with parts etc! went up to riders bridgewater and tried the gt and to be honest wasn't blown away! then thought about buying the standard abs model. Went back up 2 weeks ago on a week day when it was quiet and I tested the gt again, 2nd time was blown away !!, really works well when your tramping on! Comfortable etc. mine was pre owned with the last guy only doing 1500 miles on it? Apparently he has changed bikes 6 x this year already! he changed the giant panniers to standard ones. Which is fine by me as I,ve only ever toured with a kriega tail pack and back pack. i went out today on it over Dartmoor and I,m in love ! It's fantastic ! riders to be honest weren't the best, great when you want to buy, but little since! I tend to be very quick in my decision making, I have heard good things about gt in Plymouth. But I,m a bit closer to Bridgwater. I normally go to SP in Exeter but they don't do dukes! how long have you had your existing one?
Had my ABS model for two years in October hence the change, I like to keep in the two year warrantee. To be fair the multi has been back a few times for fixes. The funniest call back was the back light falling off! the plastic corroded. It doesn't bother me tho as it's an excuse to go to the dealers have a coffee and talk bikes! I've had about 30 bikes in all and the multi suits me perfect for nearly all I want to do (I have a 848evo too!). I always ring Riders just to gauge prices when changing, they always offer a better price than GT's plymouth but I wont buy from them out of loyalty. My son's got a street triple and my mate's got a streetfighter but is strictly a fair weather rider which doesn't suit me. Cheers for now.
BTW nearly bought a 1098 off Kai in sp motorcycles, used to buy off Bridge years when they were situated in the city.
Hi Andy No, it wasn't Kai's it was a mate of his some 10 months ago now. Looking dryish for wednesday night, will let you know. Question do you use a disc lock with your multi, I've never bothered but have read a few posts saying I should. Also would like to purchase a quality tank bag possibly Givi xs308
I quite like the look of those front brakes locks, you can get alarmed ones, so move bike and 115db siren goes off, and you cant forget its fitted and ride off! Cant imagine it creates an issue having the brake fully engaged while away from it? With it being ABS and all... Unlikley I'll be at Loomies on bike as am in Warwick but prob swing by in car on way home, see if you are about I'll come say hello
Assume you are talking about the locks that go on the RH bar and holds the front brake on? Good idea for a short break away from the bike but I am wondering what happens if you leave it on for days / weeks. The system is pressurised and pads forced onto the disc; anyone any idea about any issues that this could cause to pads, discs, callipers and brake hoses?
Hi Andy, I will be going Paington bike night tonight straight from work on my multi, hopefully see you there. My mobile 07970423761 send us a text if your going. Regards vince
Hi Andy May be going sp's tomorrow for a run not sure wether to go on my 848, really want to put the last miles on my multi. You riding this weekend?
Sorry, SP Motorcycles at Exeter they sell MV and Aprilia. Also in Exeter is Bridge Motorcycles and Speed motorcycles non of which are Ducati suppliers:frown: but it makes for a ride out from Cornwall/Plymouth area. Will plan a ride up your way sometime, Hampshire, right?
