LibDem conference still have old-style debates, i.e. people argue for different views and nobody knows what the outcome will be. By contrast Conservative and Labour have for years had American-style conferences, with everything scripted and no disagreements on display. So which is best? Real debates and disagreements? Or displays of party unity and cheerleading?
