no time to wait for the Ducati to become competititve... he's 41 so time is of an issue... some italian blogs are very well informed....
Wowser...so my thread was kind of there or therabouts...http://ducatiforum.co.uk/f17/wsbk-2013-ducatis-most-abysmal-year-14940/ Checca's had enough so. The gp bike dont work either...makes one think...
it had been talked about a while back about him going to kawasaki. Im not convinced he'd cut it though as both Baz and Sykes are really fast and unless he got up to speed straight away he'd just be left for dead.
There's a story on a Polish web site scigacz.pl - it appears to confirm Kawasaki or retirement Carlos Checa opu¶ci Alstare Ducati? Not sure how substantial the source is............. Last paragraph translated: The departure of Carlos Ducati team-talk from the Italian brand low round at the Nurburgring. Alberto Vergani, who is the manager of the desire (and the head of Nolan and Melandri manager) confirmed that the Spanish rider Kawasaki talks on replacing Loris Base in season 2014. What if the talks with Kawasaki will not bring the desired effect? It is very likely that Checa at the end of the season will end his career.
This is it, Checca is out. cant see him back now.....from twitter below. Carlos Checa Carrera@CarlosCheca7
I heard he's gone to Raleigh or perhaps Specialized, they are making push bikes more competitive than Ducati at the moment.
Confirmation from Team SBK Ducati Alstare Bologna (Italy), Tuesday 17 September 2013: After a difficult weekend in Turkey during which Carlos Checa suffered a serious accident, the latest tests made by doctors in Spain have now revealed that the official rider for Team SBK Ducati Alstare also has a fractured pelvis. A terrible blow for the Team SBK Ducati Alstare rider who faces surgery and a minimum ten-week recuperation period. At the recent World Superbike round that took place last weekend at Istanbul Park in Turkey, Checa was the victim of a bad crash during Friday's first free practice session. The Clinica Mobile medical team, on hand to treat the rider at the track, reported a contusion to the thorax and a suspected fracture of the left scaphoid. As a result the Spanish rider was unable to continue with the weekend's qualifying sessions or races and returned to Spain on Sunday morning in order to immediately undergo further testing, first in the hands of Doctor Turmo of the CAR clinic and then under the care of Doctor Mir. Unfortunately today's diagnosis has further complicated the medical situation. Carlos was having difficulty walking and so Doctor Mir, who is attending to Carlos at this difficult time, therefore carried out further tests that have revealed a fracture of the pelvis, at the point where it joins with the femoral head. Surgery is scheduled for Wednesday 18th September and will be performed by Doctor Ribas of the Dexeus clinic. The long period of recuperation required post-surgery unfortunately means that Checa will be unable to participate in the final three round of the 2013 season
at least he can start recording songs again and restart his music career. chucka checker. aahh sorrry thinking of chubby checker
I like Tommy, don't know if the Yam is as good as the Kwak but the kids got talent, seems he can get the best out of anything, might have been a good punt for Ducati in WSBK, maybe in the future. OGR
For a moment there I thought you spoke Polish. Impressed! But it's Google Translate isn't it? Admit it!
I just hope that he managed to pay off the taxman 1st otherwise he will walk bow legged for a few years to come
