Melting number plate

  1. Cant see the allure of a temi on the MTS. Over priced and monopolized, a marketing dream in that exclusivity drives desirability. A termi on this bike sounds like any other open system in my opinion. Ducati who produce some of the most stylized and beautiful machines in the world, somehow green lit that fugly can as a design option .
All subjective I know, but I think there are better and cheaper systems out there (incl remap) that will surpass any Ducati off the peg offering. But hey, I wear Tesco jeans, what do I know.

Now a Termi on an air cooled motor, that's a different story. A sound track worth investing in.

  2. You could try spacing the foot peg bracket with washers away from the tail unit to move the exhaust tip further out away from the edge of the plate. You may need longer bolts for the footpeg though. There may just be enough movement to cure the problem.

  3. The 7X7 plate with the ally tape stuck on the back is working fine on my Multi.
1,200 miles now and no sign of melting.

The Termi 'music' is worth every penny :)

  5. My mates MA v4 Akra is melting his number plate. Surely Ducati must be aware of this problem by now and issued a solution !

  6. I would reckon so as this thread is 10 years old.

  7. Metal plate fixed it for me.

  8. Snell's certainly were since they replace the illegal plate on the 1260 with Termi I brought with an legal Ali plate. (Like I'd switched to on my 2013 model years ago)
