Anyone got one out and handy so we can check dimensions? I may have found a supplier at much lower cost than OEM ones. AL
Thanks..... Thread size and length?? Is it a needle roller or ball type?........I think they are needle rollers with metal seals. It seems that they could be what are oddly referred to as cam followers (could be confused with track rollers which I don't think are suitable). AL
Thread is 8mm x 1.0mm (fine), length of threaded part is 18mm, although only 15mm is actually threaded. The shaft that the thread is on is 13mm diameter (at least it is where visible at both ends) machined for a 10mm spanner on the outside. Don't know what rollers as I'd have to destroy it to find out - doesn't want to come apart? but I would assume needle rollers given the length? Unless it's made from bearings inside a sleeve? - if so the 'sleeve' is 1mm thick. It has grey rubber seals on both ends and there is a number on the seal, of which I'm not sure of the relevance; outside says '8657' and inside '8874' Here's a pic;
Upon swapping my engine , we discovered that there are tiny differences between the earlier ones and the later (the bracket part of the tensioners) very slight differences, but the later ones would not fit the earlier engine Very strange, and I cannot understand why
The one pictured is from a '97 ST2 and is the same as those on a '95 M900, don't know if the 600/750 use the same but I would think they do. The movable tensioner bracket maybe different though? but they are just two conventional bearings fitted side-by-side.
OK, thanks both......now off searching............ What's the length of the shoulder behind the bearing? PS.....Are they really 24mm dia and not 1"? AL
So far found the right diameter and the right thread, but not the right width.......Sod it. 24mm diameter is an odd size though. Still looking. AL
