  1. OMG!
After a good ride out yesterday, stopped at local meeting point on way home. I didn't bother to put my earplugs in after that for the 10 mile stretch home...............OMG!! The noise inside my latest helmet (shoei xr1100) jezz how anyone could ride with that noise is beyond me, I'm glad I wear earplugs.

  2. I always wear earplugs.

  3. +1...
i have tinnitus and my whistle all day everyday as it is..to be on a motorbike is actual physical pain...if im driving for any distance on the motorway i wear earplugs..i also wear musicians earplugs (theyre very different to the industrial type) when im out in a pub or potentially noisey environment...even the sound of snooker balls sets my ears off.
Earplugs are as essential as a lid for me.

  4. Yeah Si, you must love the clankety clank of your dry clutch

  5. Tinnitus is not fun :frown:

  6. No it isn't :-(
It's like white noise constantly in your ears grrrr
At times I'm able to keep it shut out by distraction
I can hear it now as I'm reading this

  7. yup another sufferer hear -

just in my left ear had for a couple of years now - it isn't fun but it's not going to kill you - you just have to live with it

horse stable bolted and all that -

I worked in heavy engineering for a year when I was 17, plenty of loud music and years of noisy helmets - came along one day and you think - ahh that'll go soon - but it doesn't

  8. yep lovely constant whistling in my right ear
started not long after I bought a new helmet when I was 18
turned out to be badly designed Italian rubbish
wind noise was more than that aloud in a factory for half an hour odd or something as daft
so I cant always blame the constant whining on the kids lol

  9. All married men have tinnitus or some such white noise in their ears :frown:

  10. Years of doing disco's and riding without plugs did my ears no favors what so ever :-(
wear plugs now but its a bit late as the damage has already been done.

  11. I did about 300 miles yesterday the last 30 miles is the necessary evil of a motorway dash. I don't wear ear plugs but I guess the constant noise level at a certain speed had my ears ringing when I got home it only lasted about 10 mins.

  12. Nah, that's male patern deafness.

  13. But what that tells you is that damage is being done, it is cumulative and permanent.
