Panigale S / 1198SP

  1. Is it really worth it ?
Chop my 1198SP, 2011, for an 1199S, £9200 if I want the Termi version.

  2. what were they offering you for the 1198

  3. Is there a genuine driver or does the grass on the other side look just that little bit greener ? There are members here and on other forums who will advise you to stay with the 1098S and there are those who will encourage you to change. If it were me, 9 grand is a shed load of dosh to shell out on a whim. I would keep the 1098 and buy an 848 Streetfighter for those days you just want to be a hooligan and embarass a few sports bike riders - great fun. Only you can make the decision after a serious back to back thrash, sorry comparison on your nearest dealers demo bike. I wish you luck. Andy

  4. You'd be mad to drop an 1198SP + £9k on an 1199S. And besides, that's a terrible deal on the 1198SP, unless it had interstellar mileage and the 1199S was brand new (as in zero owners...). A friend couldn't even get rid of a low mile Pani Tric at £16.5k this summer.

  5. Moved to Panigale

  6. I would say that's a poor deal. My mate got rid of his 1198sp with 70mm system as a trade in for the multi pikes peak and got £13000.

  7. Rubbish deal!! stick with the 1198SP. I rode the 1199 and it's okay, but tbh I prefer my 848 ergonomicallym the Panigale is just a bit too fussy for me.

It also seems that there is a flood of 6-12 month old ones on the market. I am not saying they are a bad bike but your 1198SP i surely an absolute stunner and I would stick with it.

  8. If that's the deal, stick with the 1198SP.

As a few have said, for that money i would go and find a nice Hyper or Monster to run around on for the days when a sportsbike doesn't feel right.

  9. There certainly does seem to be a shed load on eBay for starters.

  10. Having tried a Pani 1199 I think you need to use it on track regularly to get the best of it and feel like you are getting some value for your hard earned.

I guess that's why Ducati have made an 899 now.

  11. Stick.....

When the Pani came out it was a toss up between that or a 1098R. I went for the 1098R and I'm glad I did. The Pani is a stunning looking bike but if ask about, people who have chopped in their **98R or S or SPS have not been blown away with the Pani.
    But if your loaded.....

  12. I have an 1198S Corse and a Panigale Tricolore. If that's the deal you are being offered, stick with the SP.
