Hi peeps, Well heres hoping I haven't made a mistake by forgetting to check the wheelbase on the Cat D one I bought and is being delivered friday.(Yes I know I'm an idiot) . If its straight I'm gonna start to streetfighter it till available money runs out(a.k.a. Creditcard Balance) If its not I will have no choice but to break it to try recoup as much back as possible.Next 24h gonna be bloody stressful waiting for delivery. I've already advertised the engine with tbs just incase the frame (if you can call it that) is bent, Which I'm preying its not. Already got harris yokes and renthal fat bars off a suzuki, so if same width and near same offset they will be used. Frontwheel gonna be hard to find and not cheap I would think? Rear light last on my list but so far found a clear lense version for not to much money. Rads gonna be hard again to get and expect not to cheap either.
I can only hope mate. Thats basically what the seller said. Its looks ok, but really I should of bloody checked it, totally stupid. Being a pessimist doesn't help either. As the saying goes, "I'm so unlucky that, If I fell into a bucket of T$TS, I would come up sucking my own thumb"
Welcome in, keep us posted. Are you going to do a build thread for it? would be really interested to see it.
Not to good mate. Spend half of the day sorting out price for new Lockset after courier lost the 1 key. He was willing to cover costs BUT lucky for both of us he later found the missing key off the penny. Then came the bike strips own and more in depth inspection First spotted forks not right, look straight to eye But wheel not right and twisted. Then noticed LH fork not sat right on spindle. As moving bike into shed the cracked bottom yoke split in two instantly turning bike into a Harley Davidson lookalike at front and cooler sat on floor. Me and father spent next few hours rigging up homemade temp hoist to get bike up in the air bit by bit. Removed forks, calipers top yoke(slightly twisted) Then came removing seat unit and hump without cut(key now in the post from courier) only to find the rear stubby damaged. Basically the only parts that are not damaged or scrap are the clocks and ecu and Lockset. Frame still unknown?? Need another frontend setup to fit and check gaps(oil cooler to f.wheel) and wheelbase to Ducati spec sheet. Totally gutted and depressed right now. In guessing £4-£5k if has to outback to mint road spec, which I ain't doing anyway for just that reason. Need some sales to happen on my guxer k5-k8 bsb bits. Anyone wanna buy near finished ex JR bsb bike??
Also 2mora I'm gonna look at how you remove yoke stem from the frame. Also remove the right height adjuster to fix or replace as the threaded part has snapped. Also my pc lost windows so on andriod phone so please forgive odd speling mistake as bloody hard to use little tiouchscreen keyboard.. Oh, Can't use my harris billet yokes neither after finding out the forks are the bloody huge marzochi 57mm's. Also can't attach pics because phone won't allow me to drag and drop my loaded attachments.
Bad luck comes in threes, so you seem to have got three people's worth of threes, by the sound of things. Welcome here anyway. Good luck shifting the gixxer bits to fund your new project.
Thanks mate. Hope the Gixer bits start to sell adapted otherwise gonna have to break bike and REALLY wanna do a panigale Streetfighter even after being told the rad and cooler mount to the inner faring plastics and not frame like most other bikes.
Hello and welcome! Seems you've been a bit unfortunate recently, here's hoping your luck changes real soon.
Thanks mate. It was part my wearing of rose tinted glasses when went to see bike and part the clever sneaky seller hiding the depth of the damage, like when I went looking the front wheel wasn't touching the cooler were since buying it I found the auction sites pictures of the bike and can clearly see the wheel was actually touching the cooler when he won it and took delivery of it. OFF TOPIC, One note for anyone after a race rad setup, In my ebay search for parts, I found a foreign seller selling race rad and cooler setups for £750 ish delivered from EU. Now considering a used upper and lower rad+cooler cost around £500 used, then £750 for a larger race spec rad and cooler setup including all alloy pipework and braided lines seems a bargain to me and apparently the guy says you don't need the lower fan due to the larger dia rad and cooler allowing the engine to run 15 deg cooler??? Back on topic, My 3 sets of race yokes won't fit these bloody HUGE tubed Marzzochi Forks. The tops not big enough and not widetrack like the original pannys. Only way to get them to work would mean getting the tops bored out 2m(4mm dia total) if safe to do so and then would need to run a non widetrack front wheel and discs setup. UPDATE, Tried fitting one of the lower billet yokes, to see if could measure wheelbase, but can't do it and now know the forks have to be wider otherwise there would basically be no turning circle on the bike due to the bloody wide cast front end and all those cables and the abs setup.
