Defecting to the darkside..........oh crap

  1. After much deliberation and soul searching, I have decided to part with my old girl........My Ducati 748 that is :frown:

My recent financial fuck-ups have really got me really thinking and my new business venture has made me all grown up (booo) so the decision is made as I need to invest in equipment to continue to grow the business.

The Ducati is in the classified's now but as I don't need to invest in work kit straight away, its not an urgent sale so feel free to take a look.

Its coming off the road this week onto sorn so a good old spuce up will follow, at least she runs sweet as for a new owner!

    Cheers

  2. :frown::frown: - good luck with the new venture and after its grown during the winter, you can get another bike. Sorted :upyeah:

  4. For sure, I am picking up an old Fireblade to tide me over the winter months then come spring who knows, but I want to be back on V-twin :upyeah:

  7. Are you missing the fuglystrada?

  8. Sounds good. Bikes are cheap as chips now, so if things pick up over the next 6 months you can probably sell the fireblade for what you paid for it, and get another 748 cheap come spring!

  11. I'm looking to sell my 1198 soon and go R1 or S1000rr. The Pani does nothing for me. Its butt ugly and is a premium priced yet inferior product in my opinion. I will always keep my 916 but I wont be buying a new Ducati anytime soon. I fail to see why I should pay premium for a bike that is nowhere near as good as a bike costing 25% less that performs much better. When its pretty, then maybe I can see the point. The 1198 is not a bad looker, the 999 is very very nice, the 916/996/998 is frankly a hard on bike. The 1199 is a turd. My mates S1000RR is very well put together and creams my 1198 in all departments. Shame really but i think Bologna has missed the point and lost their vision.

I want a modern 916 that wins on track and road. Then I will pay the premium happily.

Sorry to Pani owners. Its only my own opinion for what thats worth. I know many love it. I just dont. Ive ridden one too. My 916 turns better even with the original wheels on it.

  12. Well, okay then:

Glorious bottom end shove, vivid handling, lightning overtakes, red-faced supersports riders :)upyeah:), B-roads, redness.

    On the other hand:

Shite riding position, will it start/won't it start?, that face:eek:, dry clutch demolition site soundtrack.

Would I buy another Ducati? - oh yes.

Would I buy another fuglystrada? - not a chance.

  14. I still think my 1999 R1 is the perfect bike for me, its quicker (with me on it) than any other bikes i come across on my local roads, so I dont think id personally get any benefit from the s1000rr, but from all the reviews ive read on them, the s1000rr is just outstanding, an incredible bike. So if i was looking to buy a new bike i think id definitely be eyeing them up.

  15. I rode Royum's Prilla RSVR and I have to say it was awesome - and what a glorious noise it makes

  16. Yep, I had an old'un and it was superb. Bloody uncomfortable though.

  17. ive always had a thing about gsxr's
having had 4 of them over the years.

they may not be the cutting edge stock, but I do lovem
