One item on my List was to go to a Formula one Race. I am no great fan but I am glad i did it. I combined a Holiday ti Singapore with the Formula one. I bought an Early bird ticket for S$192 which is just about £100 for three days Glad I did it. Don't think you can get this close anywhere else. Downside is they load the cost of hotels food snd all sorts of other things for the three days of action.
If you're going to do F1 these days, then Singers is probably thge best place to go. TBH going there probably doesn't cost that much more than the race tickets for Silverstone ! If you've got a taste for that sort of thing I would HIGHLY recommend going to the Le-Mans 24 hour - the atmosphere is amazing, and there is nothing like a 200mph sportscar going past an open pub window on a warm summer's evening ( the track is about five feet from the pub at Hunaudiere ).
I've been a regular since 1988, Audi have fucked it up, they own it now, it's completely taken over with corporate hospitality, I agree the England football fans have also taken it over, but seeing them riding motorized scooters completely smashed and in the buff sort of has a charm of it's own. I now go every other year to keep it fresh, even though i am drifting into middle age, still love the camaraderie, camping, fireworks, beer etc...
'88 was my first year as an 18 yr old. been many, many times since. Done the classic last year. That seems they way to go.
