Hi everyone, just saying hello from South Wales. Collected my 848 today, 540 miles on the clock in stealth colours. It's my 1st Ducati and all I can say is WOW! Went to the factory in Bologna as part of our holiday this year and made my mind up then that I really wanted one! hope to get lots of advice from you guys over the coming months and can't wait to get on bike again tomorrow!!! cheers, Ian.
Welcome to the mad house of Ducati lovers Ian. I too got a evo too. Been to the factory in Bologna in july this year in 37c heat, still brilliant tho. Intending to visit Wales (Brecon) in october. Safe riding.
Welcome in mate, I got my evo 2 weeks ago and I'm up to 500 miles. I am getting the 14t front sprocket fitted on the service next week and a more grippy seat! Post a pic?
Welcome! 1st tip before spending on bling is to get suspension properly set up for you. Tyre pressures key too...and junk the Pirellis ASAP for Michelins. You'll then be ready for the carbon and other tasty stuff. Other top mod is gearing change to 14t on gearbox or 41t on back wheel.
Welcome!... I see you have the slower black colour,... They are gorgeous, and hope you will like it as much as I do mine! ( I have the faster white colour!)...
Insomnia post! I've got the little Ducati performance hugger on mine (it was already fitted when I picked up the bike). There's one on eBay at the moment new, for quite a nice price. Sorry I can't do links. Welcome to the forum, ignore the others Stealth is best, which end of South Wales? I'm just over the border (Forest of Dean)
I'd say a higher is important along with suspension The DP hugger isn't very effective by all accounts....mostly for looks. Have a look at Conquest Carbon. They do a mid size one which is very effective and looks good. I think they are still doing a discount for forum members too. Ducati 848 1098 1198 Satin Carbon Fiber Hugger Oh and its satin finish so it won't stand out like a French polished finger nail on Bear Grylls enjoy the bike! Ali
Yeah, I just got the DP performance Hugger and it's not what I was expecting, it's really tiny and only really protects the shock, the exhaust side is left completely uncovered. I would look at a conquest carbon. also, a seat cover would really tidy the back up, and get rid of the pillion pegs unless you use them. And I'm told that the 14t sprocket (down from 15) is a must do, I'll let you know next week when mine is done. Suspension setup will be a good thing to do, for the moment I have taken 1 turn off front compression damping and 2 off the back and it's made it much more plush over the horrid surfaces around here without messing with the springs.
