So what have you done today..?

  1. That wasn't what was going through my mind.

  2. Run the fanbook of German Housewives...ho's and shears essential

  3. Cleaned a ton of dead flies off the bikes on return from Germany. SDOC gel 100 makes the job so easy...both now dried, polished and tucked up in the garage.

  4. oban,lochgillped, inverary,tyndrom and glen coe scorchio.

  5. Highland Malt's tour?

  6. yes on the highland park, my next stop will be achentoshan

  7. Today I've been out for a blast on Eva for a couple of hours and this afternoon I've been to the Holmfirth food & drink festival again, but this time with #2 son, my DiL and granddaughter and it's been lovely :upyeah:

  8. Ambled over the bridge to Aber, back via Monmouth and wye valley , shocked to find it wasn't raining in Wales today.

overtaken by a 998 and 1¥98 on the Usk road

credit due to the person waterskiing between the two Severn bridges, I thought I was brave facing down the autumn chill (summer heat wave) manfully. Heaven knows what the temp of the Severn is at the moment.

  9. I've stacked 3 cubic metres of firewood this weekend. Yes, it's that time of the year again.
This has precluded having any real fun over the last couple of days, but at least I saw the races.

Now my turn to get dinner. A fish pie, I think, although it is quite a long and involved process.

  10. what- a fast bike run to France to buy some fish, or a few hours by the lake, casting and hopin'?

do the shops not stock fish in Switzerland?

  11. Early spin on bike followed by a wash as it rained , saw my mum who's doing ok after her mini stroke the other week , went to work couple hours , thought about getting push bike out - had cup of tea and cream cake instead

    Thinking about buying a Volvo

  12. Hope your mums getting better Char

  13. went to our local ducati dealers open day ( GT motorcycles ) in plymouth with VJ60 ( nice to meet you BTW ) back home to watch taped moto gp and first race WSBK , bowl of chilli con carne and a few beers, a good day : )

  14. Went to see Paramore at Wembley yesterday, they were epic, only saw one duke on the way to London though, and that was still in sunny Stowmarket!!

  15. Took the blackbird out for a fast run. I've been scouring the internets looking for ways to update the handling on what is a fairly old and scabby bike. Silly me, I should know by now to start at the beginning and not in the middle...checked the tyre pressures before I went out - 20psi front, 18psi rear! It handles a whole lot better with some actual air in the tyres.

Mind you, I had a good look at it in the sunshine today, and it's a lot rougher than I originally thought. My plan to buy a bike that didn't need anything doing has been well and truly shot up the arse.

  16. Is it just aesthetic though?

  17. No, it's a Honda.

  18. It was cheap, change the oil, pump the tyres and enjoy it, you'll never polish a turd!

  19. Just kidding. Caught a glimpse of the rear shock today, and it looks like it was dredged up from the Titanic! Anything remotely alloy-looking needs stripping and repolishing and clearcoating, the downpipes are toast (although there's no holes, I may get away with painting if I can get the buggers off), wheels need respraying cos the last owner obviously used a chain and padlock carelessly.

The bodywork's not bad at all; you can see that he only ever washed down what he could see standing beside it. Thankfully it's been well serviced, so everything works despite the rotten state. So yeah, it's just a big clean-up required.

  20. I can't do that. I'm not an obsessive bike cleaner, but I can't leave a bike looking like that. And you can polish a turd, I've made a lot of money by buying bikes cheap and simply cleaning them.
