What was YOUR 1st Ducati?? Any pic's?

1994 Ducati 916 Strada, bought with under a 1000 miles on the clock in 95. There was something like an 8 month waiting list for a biposto at the time. Oh & no it didn't come with any of the non standard parts in the photo

Wasn't that one of the colour schemes on the District Line in the 80s?

 

Hmm. Maybe. I was very enamoured of the Ducati 900 S2 (which I haven't noticed anyone on the forum owning) and the idea was to repaint my Pantah in those colours. It required 3 stripes (red, orange yellow) instead of the Pantah's 2 (red, blue) and the main colour was meant to be the S2's gunmetal grey, but it all came out a bit brown, which is not what I would have chosen. I think I had this done post my TT crash. Paint was a top job though - possibly Dream Machine. The brown was metallic, so it depended a bit on the light.

After a few more crashes, I had it all put back to the standard colour with double Contis instead of the Harris 2 into 1. I have a great photo of that somewhere, but it's a slide. May try to dig it out and scan it in.
