Decal Application Advice ......

  1. I know what the obvious answer is but......I've new InfoStrada decals applied to my fairing that cross the gap between the upper and lower halves of the side fairing on my 748. I take it it's just a case of scoring between the two rather than leave as is?

  2. Use the sharpest blade at your disposal, scalpel or hobby knife kinda sharp.

  3. Clean the blade with meths every time you use it, removes any glue
that gets stuck on the blade stops it from dragging.
If its a long cut use some insulation tape as a guide stops the blade from
running off over the decal.be careful when you remove it though dont want the
decal lifting off with the tape.

  4. +1...what they said would have been my answer.

The original application tape is a good substitute for the electricians tape for the straight edge/guide line as it will definately be less sticky than the vinyl decal.

  5. Hey Oli,

Have you got some vinyl decal work on your 848?

  6. Cheers all. Thats the route I've taken, common sense really!! 2 things, the poit where the 2 halves meat (top and bottom) doesn't stick too well and you don't get much of an edge to stick the cut edge too. I suppose that's the way it is as there's not really an alternative. Either way, looks the dogs danglies. Hope to get sum pics up soon......

  7. As long as the panels were clean and had no traces of silicone or polishes, the vinyl will learn to stick to the curved edges, even without much vinyl to curve over it

  8. Lol I've got one or two decals yeah :p
