Track day tyre pressures

  1. Doing a track day at silverstone next Sunday, any advice on tyre pressures too run on 1098s with Michelin 2ct's.

  2. I had the same tyres on my 916, I was told that road pressures would be fine. I Got chatting to a fella on the day and he advised taking them both down to 29, I think! It did feel much better. It was a very hot day so the tyres were getting very hot. I would suggest dropping them slightly, but depends on temp and if you are in the faster groups. If you have space take a vague and pump and try. Hopefully someone with more experiance will offer some advice.

  3. Thanks for that, will let u know how I get on.

  4. I'd go 31 front 29 rear as a starting point, measured from cold. On hot days we have been as low as 18.4 rear and 24 front, as they get very hot on the BSB bikes......

  5. On 'Hot days' Nog, what's that then. ;-)

I remember once when I was a kid I had to take me coat off...is that it?

  6. Thats exactly it Anth....we had the same once in 1976..........

  9. Indeed! It was the year the Whippet crop failed and we suffered the black puddin' drought.

Fortunately, it's not stopped raining since ;)
