Tempted to buy another D16 at £25k!!! Mine runs rings around my Panigale..... and the experience is something else. Seriously, for 25 large I would get it. Even if you crash it you could sell the engine for most of that, or vice versa if the engine lets go..... Desmo is the best bike I have ever ridden bar nothing.
MGA...get it bought, you'll be grinning for a long time mate! Is it a guy called Omran's? If it is II was tempted with it myself but logistics were a bit impractical...great bike, nice guy!
Small world! Yes it is but the situation now in a bit of a pickle.... his bike is in a showroom where the owner has done a runner and Police have locked the shop up! Trying to find out what is going on as I certainly feel for Omran at the moment.
"Ducati 1199 Panigale R Superleggera" Coming Soon: Ducati 1199 Panigale R Superleggera <andyb mode> will it fit on the side of the fairing? </andyb mode>
Pics & info are obligatory, dig out as much info as you can....bribe them, whatever it takes ! Italian press are running with 189 kgs curb weight actual bhp 195... Going to be some bike, they better get it right..
"The most stunning thing I've ever seen & that's not because I'm biased for Ducati" are the words from a man who's seen it...pics needed desperately!!
impression.... is this it? not sure yet ... looks a lot like an monoframe looks bigger... brakes look trick.... squeele, piggy in the bank, squeel!
looks wrong to me, very 2012 facelift fireblade on the front end the way the fairing comes in to the headlights. Even the exhaust looks just like the taylormade fireblade version. id of just thought it'll look just like a panigale wouldn't it? Just more expensive
It looks much nicer than the Panigale. Which means that it's wrong. It'll just be a very expensive souped-up Panigale.
So its circa £40000? Now obviously if your rolling in money I guess its nothing comparatively speaking when you consider supercars, however the Desmo was released on the back end of success and came from Motogp tech when that was a very special thing, I appreciate they launched the idea before winning the title but non the less it's got race winning heritage. why on earth would you spend £40000 on an unproven design with a bike that's won nothing or even got close? blowing your trumpet about the fact your bikes electronics are now as good as aprilias aprc package is hardly worth shouting about if the bike that features it is 3 times the price of a factory rsv4.... Which has won something by the way. dont get me wrong, it's bound to be special and very probably going to be competitive, I just find it astounding that Ducati can be so brash as to make it invite only when it's an absolute unknown quantity.
Am hoping it isn't a Panigale based bike, but something else - otherwise not sure why one would bother? However, as that is what they have been developing in both MotoGP and WSB, what else would it be? It isn't going to be an aluminium twin spar uncompetitive GP bike replica, surely? So it will be a very trick Panigale-based frameless bike..... I want an 800cc 20,000rpm v4 Ducati 2008 Desmosedici!! That would be awesome. And weigh about 140kgs.... They were truly beautiful bikes.....
I have to say, i enjoy the hype before a bike is launched. I put money this new RR will be halkf 999 & half Panigale-1098
