panigale RR on the books?

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by kope999R, Aug 30, 2013.

  1. Desmo type forks.

  2. It says on the write up that it's the RS & not the Superlegerra! It's supposed to be absolutely stunning!!

  3. So is it mean to be a facelift then or simply light weight and the better components?

i mean if its meant to be stunning do they mean it looks different or it just looks like a panigale with pre installed bling?

also is it £40000 or £60000?

there seems to be some conflicting reporting going on

  4. I've been told 2 different figures mate, both beginning with a 4...the 65k was the reported USD price! It's supposedly a very radical version of the Panigale (it'll look like a Panigale as that's what it is!), a demonstration of what Ducati stands for...my mole is in Rome with Ducati atm, unsure if it'll be there but I'm hoping pics will be appearing soon!

  5. Exact price & details are announced tomorrow, Mon 7th...more than a Desmo!

  6. Keep us posted...although I cant afford one, super intrugued......

  7. Actually.....

Can someone answer me this ?

IF this new Pani RS is even lighter than the current one, how will they make it a better bike to compete in WSBK than the current Pani ? If its too light, wont that add to the probs ?

Unless they have some sort of titanium frame and a double sided swingarm...

  8. all these thing are like this :

the RS is a pani with not to much diffferent engine, swingarm and frame.

what makes it radically different is :

    1. WSBK spec front : FGR forks ( 11K) + 108 monobloc calipers ( 3500K) + GP MK1 brembo masters ( 2,2K) + 6MM SBK brembo disks ( ,8 k)

    2. Magnetti marelli electronics (25K)

    3. Magnesium wheels
    other tank/seat.
    carbon fairings.

the rules as they were did not allow to push the engine as it was beyond 208 bhp at the rear wheel and needing a new engine every 400 km.. the problem was the the WSBK bike did make only 5 bhp more the the SSTK.

then there was handling with problems of the swingarm ending up too stiff

    so expect the following

This bike will want to set the homolagation bike as close as possible to where they want to end up as they will not be able to push it much futher as less engines will be possible.. this means that there will have been major changes to the engine.

as they will want to adress the handling as well, expect the tank to be very different, incorporating the subframe to hold fuel. this does influence the volume of air possible in the airbox and changes the POG.

the losing weight is an immediat gain... expect the Ti and Mag to be found in any bolt and part possible...

so this RR is going to be the closest a streetbike has ever been to a WSBK spec bike...

question is : what did they leave out from the RS to be able to sell it at 65K euro's? the FGR forks most probably, maby going back to TTX gas cartridged forks that are almost just as good ? Electronics in mini version? you can buy magnetti sets for 12K at club racer level. Or perhaps they just decided that loosing on a bike is just a part of the cost of racing...

i did not get the call and am not too upset as am not sure whether i want one yet... the faster i'm going on mine the more intimidated i get by the R :) and i'm pritty sure if it is the homologation bike, they will have to sell much more than 500... so apart from the flattery, not mush is going to be missed for those not being among the very first buyers...

al in my humble honest opinion that is...

after quit some effort and spending on mine, would i get one ? not sure.. as i said the stock R is already pritty wild to me.. and perhaps putting on some extra nice bits can allow me to bring that bike forward... my fear however is that this bike is so radically diffferent in the sense of nothing fitting on the standard Pani that i won't be able to move it forward.. and then 64k will look pritty cheap in comparison for a radically better bike..

but as said : there is a wide range for error and hype on any such launch... very few of the D16's went over 170bhp... even though it was heralded at close to 200 ....

but there are few things so titilating, no? :)

  9. for 65k i'd want them to pop round with one and show me it in the comfort of my flat, i wont be bothering to go down to the post box tomorrow. the 'go outdoors' catalogue come today

hope it looks good though, i can always dream :upyeah:

  10. i don't want to demean the price tag. But if it is what they say it is - an let there be room for quit some doubt on that one - and it does what it is meant to do and solve as issues, the the 64 price tag is , although being high, not a rip off.

just look at what is available in Germany on the hyper exclusive market

119K for a tuned model without the FGR forks?

  11. For £65k I'd want a BJ from Kylie Minogue and Cheryl Cole every day for the rest of my life thrown in too.

  12. Be realistic guys, there are people spending £65k on a 1000ss Pierbon with Jhp (which is a beauty btw) so a near on factory bike for that money probably isnt that bad..

  15. Jeez those 996SPS/F fetch a lot of money over there in Germany.Same here in the UK with some folks asking more for a 916SPS Foggy rep than a Desmosedici.LMFAO

    http://suchen.mobile.de/motorrad-in...ike&segment=Motorbike&negativeFeatures=EXPORT

I saved a packet buying my Ducati916SPS and simply buying the SPS/Pista seat and nose fairing brand new from a ducati dealer in Germany for a bargain price via fleabay.

As they have the same engine (with same HP figures) and same look bar a decal kit i cant for the life of me see why people will pay those prices.

Some ducati folks defo have more money than sense.

  17. Crazy I need to find a SPS/F or SPS/Pista top yoke at a breakers like I found a foggy rep top yoke before.

I suppose you get a plaque also for the extra £30,000.WTF are you meant to do with that.Wank over it or something.Give me a desmosedici anyday and you will have a lot of cash spare for servicing compared to SPS/F and SPS Foggy rep prices or that pani RR.

Its a mad world out there for sure.
