Have just put a termi end can on my 2013 s touring and am debating a mivv or leo Vince decat pipe when it goes in for its first service next week. I miss the sound of my dry clutch 999s which had a full termi system. Are there any warranty issues with the decat and does it alter the fuelling at all. Also how much would a dealer charge roughly
Mate, there are many recent threads about the options which a search should easily find. Common to all is the need to do something with the ECU and a lot of people use CJS in Bristol. Also a common finding is the loudness with the decat. I have waiting in the box to be fitted a Leo Vinci decat although I haven't found the end can I want. It won't be cheap but definitely worth it and yes the warranty will be affected. Andy
I had this set up, its very loud and the fuelling changes, smoother in places, rougher in others, I have since taken the mivv off as its was too loud for my taste, although not overly offensive with the BB Killer fitted. You could do the job yourself, its pretty simple and can be done on the side stand, I have the decat and baffle for sale if you are interested
Hmm if it effects the warranty then not sure if worth it. May have a word with dealer. The additional noise wouldn't bother me as the 999 was mega loud. out of curiousity how much are you after for decat and baffle. I've seen a fitting guide but am only barely competent with set of tools and wouldn't want to damage anything. How long does it take to fit?
I took my time and I reckon it took a couple of hours to replace the stock can, hardest part was getting the bloody springs back on, nothing taxing just a bit fiddly, and I don't know what the decat is worth, I was thinking of sticking it on ebay, I'll have a look about and see what they are going for, I bought it with a termi stubby which I am keeping with the decat refitted
Theoretically whatever isn't genuine Ducati (or Termi) will affect your warranty. Dealer's discretion really.
Warranty will only be effected if the claim is deemed to be related to, or as the result of the non approved part fitted.
Of course, I didn't mean that you put them on and automaticcally you lose the warranty! But, especially if you get it remapped, any issue with ECU probabily won't be covered...
