I cant belive nobody threw up a thread..What did you think of the racing ? I didnt see the supersport Byrne is a hero and has the edge over lowes in both experience and capability. Race two, really, hero power right there. Shakey's a true and true tough racer. Looked rightly in pain while on those crutches. What about Tommy Bridewell, chuffed for him & Ellison too. Did you hear about Baiocco, he moved the tank 25mm and the pegs 11mm...made a world of difference apparently to the Panigale.9th & 8th place, not bad at all.
Great racing from Byrne and Lowes, and a great save from Ellison in Race 2: James Ellison Silverstone Save BSB 2013 - YouTube
Not many seem interested on this forum shame as ducatisti used to be great for this.I thought the racing was fantastic and could hardly believe Byrne won on the line.Talk about close great racing but I guess as no ducatis involved it leaves a sour taste in all the ducati luvee's mouths. Out of Moto GP,WSB ,BSB ill watch the brits battling it out every time compared to the rest of the mundane crap that's called bike racing lately. One question.WTF happened to Tommy Hill. His battle with Hoppers for the title not so long ago was epic. Then next season he was well down the order and now nothing.
@ Matt#corse...............please keep up. Obviously your not much of a regular BSB viewer "It is with great sadness that I will be deciding to have a break from the sport in 2013. After a yet another hard fought year. I have been trying long and hard over the last few months to make a step up in the sport, I have started to realise the difficulty and what funds it takes to allow me to excel from my current position and move forward with my career. I have spent several years now riding at my current level, and sacrificing everything. "Winning the title last season I hoped would have given me the opportunity to secure a ride in a higher tier. Over the last few years we have seen the British Superbike Championship grow in stature and gain a bigger following, but there comes a point in anyone's life when they want to move forward, or feel they need to have a break from whatever they are doing in life. As you may know I have sustained some big injuries over my years of racing and have missed only one racing season since I was 7 years old. "To succeed at some things in life you have to be selfish, or some may say driven, and for many years of my career I have been just that. Eat, sleep, drink racing. From the time the alarm goes off, I'm training, dieting, putting unnecessary pressure on myself at times, not to do things until I get a result. Basically revolving every day to day activity around my racing. I have or may take my racing too seriously at times, and have always made my racing come first. But there comes a point when we may all need to take a step backwards and realise there is more to life…" Looking forward, this may come as a shock to a lot of people, supporters and fans out there. But I really hope I can keep involved in the sport throughout 2013, either with a Championship, or manufacturer, passing my knowledge over, or doing some track-days and see what can potentially happen in 2014!." "In the foreseeable future, I will continue with my design business (Imagedzign) give tuition on track-day's and possibly continue to keep in contact with race teams, and riders within the business over the next year. And basically enjoy my off season and try to relax a bit…Once again a massive thanks to all my supporters out there, every, race, dealer, track-day or promotional event I have attended this season has been great, and have always had a fantastic reception. A huge thank you to my fans my team and all my sponsors for their continued support throughout 2012." Yours in sport Tommy Hill
Watch it every weekend on eurosport even the repeats.I try and watch WSB and Moto GP but fall asleep lately.Formula 1 is much more interesting and entertaining lately than top level bike racing which says it all really. BSB it still close fairing bashing stuff though so long may it continue & hope T. Hill gets involved again for 2014.Thanks for the heads up. .
You reckon Tommy will be up for it....maybe the wrong turn of phrase there but he'd want to be on something competitive. Dont get me wrong the R1 im sure is a great bike, but cant see him going yamaha again, can you?
That ZX10 that Shakey is on is far quicker than The blade that Lowes is running ! Imho, I think Lowes is the better rider He's got Byrne proper rattled the first rider to get to him for a while .... Apart from that little Assen hipcup.lol I think he now rides with a mature head on his shoulders. Is anyone going to brands ?
Watch it on tv. Better grandstand seat. Unless you are right at the tope of the grandstand at paddock ;-)
Im too tight to pay for SKY !!!! Even tho Im a Tv/Satellite engineer ! lol & the atmosphere is great at Brands going on sat morning & staying in a travel lodge Then a quite blast to the track on the new 1098s
