Heat Shield

  1. I have removed all the horrible plastic heat sheilding from the engine and zorst and it now looks like how nature intented.

Only issue is the warranty poilce say I need some heat sheilding on the exhaust otherwise I could fry the fuel pump or something so I will need to put something back on.

I did see a picture of a bike with a "mini shield" that only covered about the top third of the circumference of the pipe but I'll be damned if I can find it now.

Any one have any suggestions for a good looking heat sheild for the exhaust?

    Cheers.

  2. You could always wrap the pipes with heat wrap on a roll?
    I

  3. I thought about that - could give it a "cool" race look....

  5. One of the posts mentioned wrapping affects the exhaust life - any ideas why?

  6. just a guess...the wrap retains the heat....the pipe runs hotter....the extra heat effects exhaust life.

  7. I thought that. The heat has to go somewhere.
