5 laps to go, Danni is probably dreaming about his next mountaineering holiday, his heart is not in this sport as much as his talent could be IMHO EDIT: To be honest, Dani never really focused on his gift in life ... Rossi doing much better in the dry, Stoner falling back all the time as I suspected after throwing in the towel, his heart is not in it any more ... his heart was barely there at the best of times to be honest.
Yay, great to see Dovi on the podium too ... Stoner 4th? Oh dear, Spies at tenth after a good spurt is not good either ... I really do think Bens days at Yamha are numbered now, he just does not have the 1000% go for it factor any more, like Stoner he is a wise Man, made lots of money for as natural talent and is probably thinking quite happy to be second best and enjoy the good life while they still have good health .... I'm sure i could retire on Ben Spies wealth and all these extra years Ben gets to do Moto GP or SuperBike is just money in the bank I'm so looking fwd to Silverstone .. 2013 could be interesting too. I've said it before and I''ll say it again, Rossi is in this sport for the passion as much as the money.
Katana, where do you get your info from mate? I mean seriously, how the hell would you know who's heart was in what? I think your a little wide of the mark to say because Dani pedrosa didn't fight off Lorenzo his heart isn't in it or never has been and equally the same with stoner. If their heart wasn't in it I doubt they'd of put a pole position in (stoner) or ran at the lead for 3/4 of the race (pedrosa) Thats like saying when Lorenzo finished 4th his heart wasn't in it or even when he's finished 2nd? Shit happens, that's racing. Your just slinging wild made up accusations out there as though it's the gospel truth.
Mate .. I'm looking at the bigger picture here and putting 2 and 2 together to make 4 instead of 3.5. Seriously I love Motorcycle racing ... I'm a disabled ex Motorcyclist that did try bike racing in my prime, so I do have a wee bit of background, being competitive was always my style too Is this wrong? One of my friends was the Scottish 600 cc champ for quite a few years. Please give me a break ... I like to commentate on subjects as this ... I'm not doing any harm.
PS: how much longer can Honda afford to keep hiring Danni as a safe bet? to constantly hedge their bets ... I'm going out on a limb here for next year, but I think finally Honda will let him go, he did well for their promotion, but he never achieved the A grade like Stoner did. I think History will always look back on Dani as Mr Second Best. Deal with it.
Good racing all round in all class's Good to see the Ducati improving race by race  So 2 more tests this week, Monday then onto to Aragon Thursday. Keep testing Ducati and they will be up the sharp end. I noticed today when the onboard camera was used on VR's bike when chasing Bati how the duke is as good on the brakes and up to the apex but loose's valuble ground on exit. Well at least now they only have one problem to fix and i'm sure they will by the usa rounds. BTW what going on with the x ducati racing god ? You guys told me he would run away with the series this year
Davide Brivio has been seen in the yamaha suite but It's to obvious and just a media spin to pressure JL i reckon. JL has a difficult decision to make... Leave the proven yamaha and join honda $$$$$ or stay at Yamaha as He knows VR will get the ride and yamaha know sponsors will pay VR's wages. But the ducati is getting better and i reckon they have a deadline to get VR on the podium in a dry race. If it fails to happen by the deadline VR will be gone! So were he go's is all down to JL! Or is it down to Ducati!
I hope so, sorry guy's but I'd really love to see Cal get that ride, rather than go to Ducati.....he's the first Brit being consistant in Gp in a long time, and for him to jump on a, unfortunately but true un competitive bike, would have a disastrous effect on his career. For me the rain last time out proved its not Rossi that's not competitive, it is the machine. Now for a wildcard.....take a gamble n chuck Scott Redding on a factory Ducati, bloody stupid rookie on a factory bike screws that one up tho! I think his loose, stoner'esq style might just suit.
Looked like a hard day's work for Jorge in places, but he got the job done. Class act. Chuffed to bits with Iannone's win, too. I can't help but like him.
I read on twitter that rossi & stoner have made up and become friends again, part of that deal was for him to wait for rossi so they could ride in together but that bloody cal kept pushing stoner along
I think Casey wants to pack it in now. I'm sure that when you have made the decision he has so early, you may as well go now. I wonder what the betting is on him leaving before the season is out?
Bet you he doesn't and that once on the track his only motivation is winning. They are pretty much all like that, which is why they have risen to the top of their game.
Anyone that has raced in any form give's it 101%.... It takes 98% to have the balls to take part in that race.
These are my honest thoughts too, its obvious from Stoner his whole body language (for want of a better word ) is not in it enough any more now that he has thrown in the towel ... I'm sure ... he will keep trying for the remainder of the year ... because he was always a determined little git ... but I honestly feel once the passion is gone thats it, and for sure Stoner has lost his passion for the sport. I still reckon he was too quick to say quits ... I'd have kept my cards closer to my chest for longer if I felt that way and in his position ... was he looking for attention again as he often does? who knows, he's dealt his best hand and he'll have to live with it now, he would look extremely foolish if he changed his mind again. His retirement sure has opened up a lot of speculation for the future though, even given the sport a big boost ... half of the love of Motorcycle racing is always what might be in the future.
Finally got round to watching the race. Cal was pretty disappointed but I think that he did well apart from the start. Tyre wear didn't seem to affect him too much which was good. Nice to see the Ducati steadily improving in dry conditions too Well done to Jorge, the battle for the lead was decent. The championship is shaping up to be a good one
It's a bit relative though isn't it? In Moto2 there was a 4 way dice for victory. I can't remember the last time that happened in MotoGP.
