Why? how many owners will race them? I don't see why a bike's race pedigree matters that much - all the latest sports bikes have more performance/ability than any of us can use anyway. So why the fixation on whether it was 1st, 2nd or 10th in some race, where the actual bike raced was considerably different from the bike we would be buying anyway. People still buy Ferraris and they haven't won F1 for some time and Lamborghini have never won...
I agree with all you say but what Im saying too is that they need a bike to get back to WSBK, show they are competitive and get the brand back up there. We all here ( long term or short therm ) as Ducati owners would love to see that, the pani ( or whatever the next effort will be ) on a colling down lap, riders fist in the air and a Ducati badge on the tank.
