mmmm..... That's looking very tasty now. Tail tidy, carbon bling, different seat and exhaust, just the right amount of orange........and the right sound as well. What's not to like? Gonna go for this version Count?
I've ordered the black version. I'll change the exhaust for Akra, probably change to the seat as that looks smart and probably more comfortable. Not sure about carbon yet... tail tidy is a must.
The piccy posted here with the black theme with some orange (frame/decals etc) and the Akra/seat options are basically what I'm hoping to end up with.
this really does look smart doesn't it, I know the pictures been posted but i thought another couple wouldn't hurt
All these lovely pics of the KTM is making me sad. This Monster 1198 had better be a belter or Ducati gift us a new big Streetfighter or I'll have to succumb to one of these (black, Akra).
on sale from the end of November...15,750 euros KTM 1290 SuperDuke R: una bomba. Semplicemente - Motociclismo
Not sure if I'd pay £14k though, £10k probably but I just think £14k is a bit too steep especially as ktm will be doing deals on them within 12 months
A good write up here. - Not enough excitement? First ride: KTM 1290 Super Duke R review - Road Tests: First Rides - Visordown ......and some more here. Track review: KTM 1290 Super Duke R - Road Tests: First Rides - Visordown
It would look better with a pair of underseat exhausts, also surely the silencer is the way of the wheel if you want to get it off, if so I can't see the point of a single sided swinging arm.
it'll be a hoot....I just bought the mini version below pick it up Saturday...LOL......had a 690 SMC R last year.......brilliant brilliant bikes.......it took days for the grin on my chops to fade it'll be looking like the bike in the second picture by trackday season next year......81BHP 139Kg should be amusing (not standard got cam headwork Etc)
Reading the first reviews of the 1290, it does sound like KTM have overhyped it a bit too much. At £14k it needs to be the beast they promised but that doesn't seem to be quite the case.
I reckon it'll be great as to be fair every journo has only really moaned that it's not a fire breathing monster because the electronics keep it in check. They still say it's the smoothest, best fueled Ktm to date and for me that's not a bad thing at all. I mean take the sf1098 /S for example, shite fueling for such a high priced bike and even the S dwarfs the 1290 cost by about £1500. However I still think £14k is too much, the Aprilia aprc Tuono V4 is circa £2k cheaper with easily equal electronic package and having owned one briefly before being out of work I can say they're a superb bike. OK parts take a while but you can also pick them up in deals for just shy of £10k new I reckon once the initial orders have died down you're looking at picking them up with a sizable chunk knocked off, probably £2-3k I reckon as ktm like to shift pre built stock like that Only time will tell I guess
