  6. Funnily enough I was talking to one of my best friends about this too this afternoon. The daft sod inadvertently got some on his mountain bike brakes last weekend. Needless to say his bike stopped stopping

  7. Oh dear what a fau pa

  8. I have only just seen the other replies and realised this is a wind up. Glad there are people with enough time on their hands to engage in this sort of thing.
Should have guessed that it wasn't real, as there was no implied blame in Ducati like in the usual "someone else's fault, not mine"posts that you see all to often on here!

  9. If you really did this I suggest selling your motorbike and get someone to lock you in a nice sponge lined room with one of this nice vests with all the buckles on the back

  10. I take it you applied this maintenance chart to the "issue"

  12. In August 1971 I borrowed a bike from Jack DiFazio Motorcycles (of Frome, Somerset) for a few days. It had a Suzuki 500 twin engine unit, and everything else was specially made by DiFazio including the hub-centre steering front fork. The front brake was twin Lockheed discs; note that twin discs were a great rarity in 1971.

Both front brake discs were fully coated in a layer of black molybdenum grease. This was the way DiFazio liked to set them up. I was very apprehensive about this, but Jack assured me it would be OK. I have to admit that the brakes worked perfectly, smooth, responsive and highly effective without jerking or snatching. They also worked immediately in the rain, which other disc brakes failed to do at the time.

This is absolutely true, not a wind-up. Down the years I have often thought about trying the same thing again as an experiment, but I never have - rather to my regret.

  13. Ojobear, you should get your tip onto YouTube, you'll make a packet!

If you don't believe me check out this turkey

Can I suggest to use the title of "improve the life and look of your brake disks"
