If I had pots of cash I'd have one to use on track. By that I mean buy a pucker race one, spend about 10k min a year maintaining it and do a track day a week. Otherwise its a waste
epic battle..i love watching the youtube version with the orgasmic italian commentary..takes me back to my yelling and screaming at the telly, tea spitting from my mouth....they were the glory days of wsbk...i loved edwards, but also loved ducati..i didnt know if i was cumming or going... the rossi v lorenzo Catalunya battle is the only one to come close in the last few years.
For me one of the most memorable bike sport events was in the early hours of the morning back in 1994 when Foggy took the championship (& Scot Russell gave in) at Phillip Island. Watched it live round a mates house on satellite back when we didn't all have it, how good was the Keith Huewen/Julian Ryder commentary back then (be great if BT Sport got them back together for next seasons GP coverage). Foggy brought theatre to the series and we had a world champion again so at the time we forgave him for being such a dick (he could ride a bit too). Unfortunately when forced to retire he proved to be an even bigger dick, massaging his ego on telly when he should have been commentating, though I get the impression he's mellowing a little bit now with old age.... perhaps Whit has had a word in his ear. Anyway may be we should be more gracious and cut him some slack, he'll soon be out of work, we'll have Cal Crutchlow on all the publicity shoots soon :biggrin:

agreed, except for the remarks about the commentary...huewan was a know all, know fekk all arrogant bumhole..constantly puttingRyder in his place, who rolled over and wee'd on his own fat hair belly....and the constant sucking up to foggy..used to make me laugh my head off in the day...'in my view, carl will wait until blah blah'..so biased it was untrue..still..its not often a brit is at the front, so i'll forgive him his soiled underwear.

I always remember thinking that these bikes never looked quite right with the strange shaped fuel tank. Absolutley stunning though.
foggy attended a function hosted by the moira motor racing club at I think the ulster gp. here he started to bad mouth joey as a racer, at this point my mate pined him to the wall by the throat and basically told him for his own good to watch his mouth.also that night a car loaned to himself and I think hizzy was wrote off.not the most popular racer but tons of skill.
