When I turn off the ignition on my Multi, a bright red flashing light appears around the small circular display screen, which I presume indicates the immobiliser is operating, but does this flash continuously and if so is it likely to run down the battery if the bike is parked uo for a few weeks? Sorry for asking such mundane questions but the owners manual doesn't seem to povide a lot of what I would consider to be basic information.
The current drain on this is minimal, I would be more worried about any alarms fitted if any? Duke batteries need all the help they can get, would be advisable to get a good smart-charger & give the bike a bump charge once or twice a week?
Yes, I know from previous Ducatis how sensitive they are to batteries which are less than fully charged.
I left mine stood for 6 weeks lost winter when we had lots of snow and ice (and salt), had no charger and it started and ran well. I did get a low battery warning recently after doing a whole load of short runs to work and back (only 4 miles each way), but an Optimiser sorted that.
