Years ago I used to find that two grades of Loctite were enough for most jobs, namely 222 (pink) for mildly stopping nuts bolts and screws from coming undone, and 601 (green) for permanent bulletproof fixing of loose bearings & serious jobs. Nowadays the Loctite website lists about 1,000 different grades, each with slightly different characteristics. I am finding it difficult to choose what to order. Is there anyone out there who is an expert on this topic, so can advise? This might help a lot of us.
If you really don't want it to come undone, use 638.........Good for holding bearings when they are really loose in the housing too. And to hold bearings in, in normal circumstances use 641. For normal bolt situations, I use blue 243. AL.
I've not used many types but for most bolts that I dont want to come undone I use blue 243 in a handy stick applicator.

No one in their right mind will buy that lot, so 638 is overspeced for most but more than suffices. Because you don't want things coming loose.
