I agree, I hate Litre culture, powerful bikes are fun but there in no-way better. The HP4 is £17+k and the 1199 is 16k... the 899 is 12.5k so you need to ask yourself how important it is that you get 'the big one'.
Agreed - I don't have a willy to wave so I don't think it affects me so much - very much testosterone fuelled the biggest / newest is best mantra - don't impress me  However if I did have one I think I'd still give it the odd wave to passers by  Oh and I hope it gives you hours of endless FUN
I like litre bikes purely because i like lazy power. If I was a regular track day hoon an SV650 or a 748 would be my weapon of choice. A litre bike is too much for an inexperienced track dayer like me. Its fun yes but i'd bet i'd be quicker on a smaller bike.
^ congrats and good for you - enjoy your 899 as it will be superb. I remember when I got my 748SP (yellow) and its still my favourite road bike I have ever had - just awesome.
I'm at dealer now, bit if a nightmare! The chain needs adjusting and they have a strange size nut on the axle! They have tried every motor machanic trying to get the correct size. There on the case, I'm just being patient
Do they just tip the bikes out of the box when you get there to pick them up, it's not the first time we've heard about problems on pick up. Surely things like this should be sorted and ready for you to ride off into to the sunset with a big grin on your mush. Hope it's sorted soon for you. Enjoy your new toy!.
It was al ready, they just wanted to just tighten the chain after the test ride and it snowballed from there! Also my fault as I'm rushing them so I can play with it in the nice weather!
