Dyno runs

  1. Well today aoart from getting the bike serviced I put it on the dyno at Cornerspeed in Nottinghamshire.

Neil did 4 runs in all the different power modes. Standard bike except for Termi stubby courtesy of DavidD (thanks for that David)

Interesting that all of the power and torque curves in all 4 modes are identical until 5,300 rpm at which point the bike is producing 70 bhp and 70 ft lbs of torque. After this the differences kick in.

Sport 136 bhp at 9300 rpm, 82 ft lbs torque at 7700 rpm. Touring is the same power curve all the way through but what the dyno doesn't show is that in touring the throttle response below 5300 rpm is softer.

Urban and Enduro 92 bhp and 71 ft lbs torque, though torque starts to decline after the 5300 rpm mark, and power plateaus at 7,000 rpm and stays that way until 9500 rpm. Again what the dyno doesn't show is that throttle response is definately slower, the bike revs slower.

The torque curve is lovely and flat throughout sport and touring which as we all know makes the bike so nice and responsive to ride. 65+ ft lbs of torque from 3500 rpm onwards peaking at 82 and only tailing off above 9,000 rpm.

Also the fuelling is spot on theoughput the rev range in all modes, (which it should be).

It demonstrates what a great engine the 1200 Multi is.

I'll scan the dyno sheets at work next week and post them.

  2. Excellent news....makes you wonder what it's like decated. And you're welcome Shaun, glad you like it... :)

  3. Sounds great...would love to see the curves....did they work on every gear? CJS Chris believes you need to tune each mode in each gear...would be interesting to hear different philosophies on this

  4. Unless the ecu knows what gear it's in, it'd be a waste of time ......

  5. Nice one Shaun, that's on my list too, will be interesting to compare mine with the full Termi on.

Sorry I couldn't make it over yesterday, had two appointments dropped on me at no notice

  6. Maybe someone should suggest Chris join the forum (he did post some really useful stuff on the Ducatisti forum......which obviously is lost). I did email him a couple of times a while back but never heard back from him.....maybe my email address is on his 'ignore' or spam list now?

  7. Shaun, I take it the Termi stubby is what I have on my PP as standard and not something different ? Are you considering de cat ?

  8. It does. :upyeah:

  9. He is a member here, probably just too busy reprogramming bikes to come on much

  10. Yes hi all . The multi does indeed use a fuel trim on every gear that makes fueling it by the average dyno operator foolish . I have remapped near 40 bikes and have NEVER seen one with perfect fueling. To get the picture a wide open throttle run does not count. The bike must be run at all 23 throttle positions and all 40 rpm positions to get a clear idea of what's going on.The bike must also be sampled for afr at each header pipe and NOT the end can. Information collected at the end can is useless . The rear cylinder could read 12 flat which they pretty much do. The front a wonky 13.5 . Both together giving a misleading near perfect looking afr when sampled at the tail. A stock bike remapped to perfect fueling always makes 144 to 148 in bone stock tune. One with a decat pipe 150 to 158 depending on type of full system and if it has a k an n .Having put a year of my life into the Mitsubushi ecu I hope I get some things right. The panagale ecu had been done. We can now turn off the ex valve , o2 sensors and map the mode s for fuel and spark .

  11. Gordon, yes it's the same stubby as your PP. I've thought about a de cat, having had many Ducati's all with "proper" (read loud) Termi's I prefer the sound track, BUT nowadays get concerned about attention of the police, and also like the stealth mode should I inadvertantly stray a few mph over the speed limit.

  12. +1 I don't see the point in spending a couple of thousand £££ on the Multi, it was never meant to be a sportsbike, plus the stealth of it is a nice to have
