My Red 899

  1. Dave, congratulations on your BEAUTIFUL new purchase. As you say, it's early days in the human/bike bonding process, but it already sounds like you're smitten.
You have already hit on one of the BIG advantages of a Duke....feel and grip. Add into the mix the gorgeous looks and that awesome, evocative sound.....No matter any supposed power disadvantage to the bigger bikes, this one is going to plaster a permanent smile on your face.
Well done....can't wait to ride our (White!) demo!!!!!

  2. Thanks,

I fitted the R&G tail tidy today, its a bit of a effort to fit and not the best engineered solution but looks loads better than the standard stalk.

I ordered some other bits, the aero fairings and seat cover, will also get some carbon bits for it. so far all the bits I have done have been standard 1199 parts, but I have not ordered the carbon rear hugger yet as I don't know if the 1199 one will fit due to the differences at the back.

did another few miles today, its growing on me more every time I ride it. I like the fact that you can pin the throttle whilst riding and the front lifts but it never comes up (I have not noticed the traction control light coming on) and it just feels like the power is just perfectly matched to the bike. it feels very "safe"

  5. I am having it painted the same as the superleggera but in red not orange.

  6. Cool. I do fancy one but not plain white or red. How much is the paint job?

  7. Not to bad a price because only the side panels and tailpiece have to be painted, approx under £500 inc the wheels.Go up DM and test ride one but dont take your wallet.

  8. Sounds interesting!!!

  9. Saw it today in white at Snells. Not keen on white and thing swingarm will look better when mk2 arrives in black ;-) but it does suit it

  10. The SL paintwork looks great and i love the orange but i thought it might be a bit to corney to copy it exactly.

  11. Swing arm close up,

Another thing i noticed is it has the big rear indicators not the small ones like the 1199,why?

  13. Really? Which bit?

  14. Swangarm really think too, and with the light battery and wafer steel tank you cam see some of the places its lighter over an 848

  15.

  16. got to say that swingarm does nothing for the bike

  17. In all honesty you cant see it when you are riding it !

  18. I didn't like the look of it in photos either but once you see it in the flesh it is quite nice and it does suit the bike.

  19. yeh understand simmytt but the panni looks mint with the single sider compared to the 899 one ,its like come on ducati you are charging enough for the bike

  20. But needs to be black...
