Japanese MotoGP Motegi - possible spoilers

  1. Speaking of Espegaro...the elders get off at the end of the straight when it looked like his throttle stuck open...soon to be youtube clips all over facebook

  2. Must have been a brake failure surely - he stepped off:eek:

  3. Great ride by JL today, Marquez did what he had to do in the end and I was surprised Lorenzo was out gunning him and making him push the limit too far.

Rossi looked to be on it and I thought he'd done the 'team mate' thing by placing himself between them but after he buggered up those few corners in a row he was well out of it unfortunately.

As for Moto2 I expected Esp to take it today deep down but not in those circumstances, Rabat really did take the 'help a team mate' to the next level.

so down to the last race, I know its a long shot but I really think Lorenzo has a chance here, not just mathematically but also I feel the pressure has finally caught Marquez up.

he's had a few offs in a row now, each gradually growing in severity and all it takes is something similar on the final race to put him right off.

He needs 4th place which by his standards should be easy....... But you never know, Bautista could well get excited on turn 1 or 2 and we all know what happens then ;)

  4. Rossi has form at Valencia and like you say Bautista will have something to prove on home soil. Its not a foregone conclusion, as it seemed 3 races ago.

  5. Back in Europe Marquez won't look as lost as he did in Japan. And remember he had a major crash earlier in the morning, I think he did bloody well to stay as close to Lorenzo as he did. At Valencia he'll just stick close to Lorenzo, he knows exactly what to do.

  6. 4th is enough...but he'll want to win :upyeah:

  7. So if Lorenzo wins from Marquez in the last race, Marquez will be champion through his stunt at Valencia, barging Lorenzo out the way to win a race he never led once until he started playing bumper cars with Jorge.

To me, that's just shit and Lorenzo will be furious.

  8. to me its just wonderful how JL rides the best he's ever ridden , being pushed to new levels by MM's arrival.. seems a bit MM is managing as JL did last year... :)

  9. Didnt he crash there.......is that the form you mean? gifting Hayden the title?

  10. Jeez...some people just don't want racing

  11. 2006.............did you not see it ..............

The 2006 MotoGP season started off with Rossi, once again, being the favorite to take the Championship, but he had trouble in the first half of the season. Hayden held the points lead throughout most of the season, but Rossi was slowly working his way up the points ladder. It was not until Motegi when Rossi finally grabbed 2nd in the points race behind Hayden. In the Portuguese Grand Prix, the penultimate race of the season, Hayden was taken out by his teammate, Dani Pedrosa, and did not finish the race. This led to Rossi taking the points lead with only one race left in the season. However, Rossi crashed early in Valencia, the last race, and Hayden went on to win the 2006 MotoGP Championship. Rossi finished the season in second place.

  12. Did Hayden win a race that year?

  13. He won twice . dutch race and america. But he was often in the top 4 that year winning the championship by 5 points from VR.

  14. But plenty of racing that year with different winners and none of this 'baahhh he stole my line' whinging

  15. So what's the problem with Marquez winning the title, 749er? Or do you just moan about every champion?

  16. If he wins by more than 10 points then that's great. He deserves it. Less than 10 points then for me it's tainted with his barge past Lorenzo.

Lets be straight here. If Rossi had not done it before, he would have been penalised for it. He knew it, Honda knew it. That's why he reminded everyone of it.

    It made him untouchable.

Along comes Laguna Seca. He does the same again.

Going back to 2006, both Rossi and Capirex could have been champion. Injuries to both hampered their seasons.

I recall being at Donington and watching an injured VR, move from 15th on the grid to take a podium.

That was the last year of the fly in tyres.

  17. Sounds like sour grapes to me. He's only a little fella, if he was causing the other racers grief they'd give him a duffing up down pit lane. And yet more references to Rossi; why?

Fact is Marquez has come into motogp and swept all before him to one side, and absolutely romped home. Were it not for a mistake in counting laps in Oz he'd already be world champion before the season was finished. All the greats before him spent at least one season crashing before they came good, Marquez was great from day 1. And along the way all his competitors have had to seriously up their game just to stay in touch. Lorenzo and Pedrosa have never ridden as well as they have had to this season, yet they're still behind the rookie. Acknowledge him for what he is, a great, great racer.

  18. racer being the operative word. Senna on a bike...

  19. Quite simply because it is Marquez who references Rossi for justification for his moves. It's not me, it's him.

I don't see how you can say Marquez has swept all before him. Lorenzo has one more race. Would have been 3 more races had it not been for the Valencia carry on.

Just stating the facts like. No point in ignoring them and allowing conjured myth to get in the way.
